The Magic Circle Christmas Party opens on the 27th. Aimed at family audiences it stars Patrick Page, Terry Herbert, James Parker, Peter Westlake, Keith Cooper & Carol, and Alan Astra. Included in the Party is a trip around the Magic Circle Headquarters, a visit to the Museum, Close-up Magic, a chat with Merlin, and a stage show to round things off. Just added to the TV Magic listings, Are you Superhuman? (BBC2 11.20am 27th December), features interviews with members of the Young Magician's Club, and explores whether magicians can be deceived by something which is apparently obvious to a lay audience (absolutely!). Look out for Matt Edmondson and Matthew Duggan. 23.12.00

The line-up of Magic Stars appearing in tomorrows Heroes of Magic has just been announced... and it's looking good... VERY GOOD! How about David Bamberg, David Berglas, Harry Blackstone Senior, Harry Blackstone Junior, David Blaine, Lance Burton, Chan Canasta, Cardini, Tommy Cooper, David Copperfield, Paul Daniels, Dante, Le Grand David, Arnold de Bière, David Devant, Wayne Dobson, Dunninger... and that's just from "A to D." Dominic Wood, know to just about every child in the Country for his successful magic and game shows on both BBC and ITV, has just released his first book of magic. Simply Magic is aimed at six to ten year olds I would guess, and is full of practical tricks that children can perform with everyday items. Generously illustrated with performance photos throughout this would make a great first magic book for any child. 23.12.00

We hear that "Mr Magic - Dirty Tricks" has exceeded expected viewing figures in its 11pm slot on Men and Motors (Friday nights on Granada B Sky B). The show will be given a full half-hour slot from January, and will then transfer to LWT in the New Year, as a weekly show. 23.12.00

Weeks of rain have caused havoc up and down the Country. Paul Daniels and his wife, Debbie McGee, had to use a boat to reach shops from their flooded home at Wargrave near Henley last week. Let's hope that things are better now. 23.12.00
