The convention has sold out, but the Dealers' Fair will be open to magicians who are non-registrants for an admission charge of just £5.00. Mark Worgan's Klub Magic is two years old on June 15th. To date Mark has presented 45 of the country's top magic acts, and hosted every show. In the last of the present run Mark will introduce Chris North and Belinda (Trickstars) with their new comedy illusion show, Ian Keable (a mind as sharp as his wit), and Monkey Magic star Jonathan Goodwin, on Wednesday, June 15th. Andy Nyman continues to run two careers in parallel. He's currently filming in Hungary for a new movie called Severance, the latest from 'Creep' www.creepthemovie.com director Chris Smith, which will be in cinemas next year, and was offered the job the day after he'd finished another movie called 'Played' with Vinnie Jones. Ali Cook has just completed a television commercial for an online casino, playing the part of a gambling obsessed postman, which is due to air on ITV in a couple of weeks. Jay-J Jaxon took first place and the 'E J Crook Cup' at Watford Association of Magicians' close-up competition on June 7th. Second place and also winner of the 'Norman Green Technical Merit Award' was Jawwad Rasheed. Dean Maudsley came third and Blane Stoker fourth. Ten competitors performed at two tables and were judged by Peter Pinner and two lay judges including a reporter from the Observer News Group. 11.6.05

Shane West wins three times in a row. Shane West triumphed at the Leamington and Warwick Magic Society's close-up competition in June, competing for the Frank Allen Cup. This was Shane's third straight win in this competition. Six competitors took to the tables and competition was fierce with Shane just beating Alan Cooper (who recently won the Coventry Magic Circle's Close-Up Competition) with a score of 335 over Alan's 333. Not far off in joint third positions were regulars Stephen Buxton and Bernard Visgandis. Magic judges were Dominic Twose and David King with Vicky Leaper kindly acting as the lay judge. Rob has performed magic since the age of eight and turned professional a number of years ago after a 15 year career in retail management.
