Jonathan Goodwin is featured in this month's Bizarre magazine, to promote the terrestrial premiere of his show The 7 Stupidest Things to Escape From on Channel 4 (Friday, March 3rd, 10.35pm). The new edition of Radio Times also features Jonathan, rating his show a "Choice of the Day" and commenting: "There's more than a bit of Jackass about this and you'll probably turn your head away from his antics more than once. But there's something strangely engaging about Goodwin, and against your better judgment you may laugh out loud." I did... The 7 Stupidest Things to Escape From breaks all the rules and succeeds on many levels. Jonathan's supremely under-hyped antics work brilliantly... who could ever forget his escape from a car wash? Keep an eye on the man, and what he's up to, at www.escapologist.co.uk and be sure to check out his 'Safari Park Escape' plans - pure genius. Jonathan can be heard on Loose Ends on BBC Radio 4 at 6.15pm today (Saturday 25th February). Maybe next year we'll be able to see him risking life and limb live on tour - now that would be fun. 25.2.06

Tim Vine and John Archer. Jimmy Carlo emails: "I went to see Tim Vine and John Archer at a Theatre near me in Sedgley last night, and what a great show it was. John Archer opened and was on top form doing a few sight gags followed by his version of six card repeat, finishing off with a blind-folded mentalism bit that was very funny. His handling of audience members was a joy to watch; pity I didn't take notes but I was laughing too much! He then announced that they were running late and that there was not going to be an interval, so he introduced Tim Vine who walked on stage with a towel around his head and body as if he had come directly out of the shower, big big laugh. Then the actual interval came, followed by Tim who tore the place to bits. I would recommend going to see this show if you get the chance. Highly Recommended." Jimmy Carlo. 25.2.06

Mike Bailey takes the slot this Monday, February 27th. There is also an open mike slot for comedians and magicians who just want to turn up and do a few minutes. The Royal Television Society Awards are presented on March 14th and are decided on by a jury made up of TV professionals. In the category Entertainment Performance Derren Brown for Derren Brown: Trick of the Mind (Objective Productions for Channel 4), is up against strong competition from Ant and Dec for Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (Granada Entertainment for ITV1), and not-so-strong competition from the incredibly irritating Paul O’Grady for Paul O’Grady Show (Granada Entertainment for ITV1). In the Single Documentary - General category Taxidermy: Stuff the World (Century Films for BBC Two), has been nominated, much to the delight of Derren Brown no doubt, and Peep Show, from the makers of Derren Brown: Trick of the Mind has been nominated in the category Situation Comedy & Comedy Drama (and is well worth a serious punt). www.rts.org.uk  25.2.06
