TrickShop.com - Strong Magic and Mentalism delivered on-demand. Two brand new ebook PDFs from TrickShop arrived this week, one for mindreaders and one for magicians, and as ever they are simply first class in every way. In the Stolen Thought Book Test, a spectator is given a free choice of three different hardcover books, opens his chosen volume to any page and finds any word on any line, writes down that word on a piece of paper, folds it up and places it in his pocket. The books are put away and the performer asks his helper to concentrate intently on the word he chose. Next, the performer introduces a large pad of paper and a marker. Slowly he begins to write on it – first one letter, then another, and another – as he seemingly zeros in on the spectator’s thoughts. Finally, the performer stops writing. He stares at the pad for a moment and then turns to the spectator; asking him to reveal for the first time the one word he chose out of the many thousands of possibilities he was given. The performer turns his pad to the audience and reveals the word he just wrote down. It matches! Click Here for more information and to order. (The method here is really clean and 100% practical). The second ebook PDF SoloTear revisits the classic tearing off of a corner of a playing card, and offers a simple solution that virtually automates the whole process! Wanted: Magicians that can act. John Plews emails: "I’m writing to you from Upstairs at the Gatehouse, home of John Lenahan’s Monday Night Magic. We are a north London Fringe Theatre and in March we are producing a Victoria Wood play entitled 'Talent'. Two of the characters in the play are amateur performers waiting to take part in the weekly talent show. They are required to sing (a music hall type song) and perform some magic tricks. Both characters are aged between 50 and 70 and the standard of magic will be somewhat determined by the actors skills. So, I am looking for two actors. The Gatehouse is a fringe theatre , productions are done on a profit share basis, the actors receive travelling expenses and a share of the profits at the end of the run. We start rehearsals (daytime) on 18th February and 'Talent' runs from 8th March to 6th April 2008 (evenings). All will take place at The Gatehouse in Highgate London N6."
