Liam Montier's UV Kit & DVD offers something very original in the way of close-up magic that would work brilliantly under the toughest 'real world' night club conditions. The kit includes an ultra violet keying 'torch' and UV marker pen, some special cards, and a 90 minute disc full of material. I've had a quick play with this and it's excellent - the possibilities for very strong mindreading/prediction type effects are endless, and the impossibility factor "high". We'll be featuring the disc next week under Magic DVDs, but if you can't wait until then visit www.bigblindmedia.com for more info right now. 7.6.08

EntertainerTraining.co.uk. Bristol-based children's entertainer Mike Clarke has released a comprehensive training system for anyone looking to enter the world of children's entertainment. Says Mike: "10 years ago, I was looking for information on becoming a children’s entertainer. While there seemed to be a lot of 'marketing courses for magicians' around, I found it very hard to find real useable information about how to actually enter the children's entertainment environment in the UK from scratch." The system has been created with the complete beginner in mind - so if you've been wondering HOW exactly to start as a children's entertainer, you now know where to look - www.entertainertrainer.co.uk. 7.6.08

Michael Vincent emails: "Thursday 5th June. Yesterday, I spent the afternoon with former president of The Magic Circle David Berglas. David had seen my television appearance on Channel Five's Extraordinary People, featuring my relative Stephen Wiltshire. As you may know, Stephen is world famous for his ability to draw complex buildings from memory. This is due to the fact that Stephen is among a handful of people in the world labelled as an Autistic Savant. His eidetic memory has been amplified with incredible accuracy, to such an extent, that he has drawn beautiful panoramas of London, Rome and New York. Not to mention many beautiful works of art. David has been a fan of Stephen since he first appeared on the QED program “The Foolish Wise Ones”. I was able to set up a meeting with David and Stephen and we spent an enjoyable afternoon at Stephen’s Gallery in Pall Mall, London." www.stephenwiltshire.co.uk. 7.6.08

The Radium Girl Illusion. Michael Diamond emails: "I hope someone out there can help me with this. I am doing some historical research, and am trying to locate an old illusion, designed by Val A. Walker (The Wizard of the Navy). It is called the 'Radium Girl Illusion' and is like an upright sword/blade box. Quite a few of these were originally made, along with many rip-offs. Apparently, Jeff Atkins had one, and used to perform it. If anyone out there has one of these illusions, or knows where one is, could they please contact me? Many Thanks, Michael Diamond - Mobile 07836 385069". 7.6.08
