Associated Conjurers of East Sussex (A.C.E.S.) to end. Martin Lewis writes. It was with great sadness during our club meeting last Wednesday that the committee and I announced the demise of our lovely magic club, the Associated Conjurers of East Sussex (A.C.E.S.) Founded in 1992 by Mark Worgan, Robin Toft and Tony Richards,  A.C.E.S., with a motto "Friendship through the art of magic", was seen as groundbreaking, with a 'no rules' policy. 26 years later and with many, many happy memories we will be closing our doors after our July meeting. We have hosted many great lecturers and orators over the years with many highlights. Our Annual Dinners were the envy of many. On a personal note having served as Chairman for 10 years and President for the last 12, I will miss our monthly get-togethers and the friendships that have been formed. Numbers reducing and hall fees increasing have led to this very difficult decision. My sincere thanks must go out to stalwart Treasurer John Holden for all his hard work and current Chairman Rick Martyn for helping come to this very difficult decision. My wife Nicky has served alongside me as Secretary for the last 12 years and has worked so hard organising the club and its members, and helped me to keep things going until now. Once again it is with great regret but who knows the phoenix may rise again in the future. Martin Lewis. www.magic-clubs-in-sussex.co.uk. 14.4.18

Derren Brown: Underground. Derren Brown, the multi award winning master of mind control and psychological illusion, is taking his latest sensational show Underground on tour in 2018, in both the UK and Ireland. Derren said: "Underground was originally written for audiences in other countries who hadn’t seen me before. It meant finessing and revisiting past pieces and seeing them with fresh eyes. I sat down with my two co-writers and directors and we thought 'What would make the best possible Derren Brown show?' None of us were sure what the UK would make of it, but the resulting show felt so good, and met with such a great response when warming it up in London, that we decided to tour it. The reviews have been astonishing, and people who’ve seen all the shows have said they love being surprised by them again, and those who don’t know me so well are getting to see the best material for the first time. It’s a huge, huge joy to perform."

This is the second leg of the Underground tour, direct from the West End production at the Playhouse Theatre, which ran for thirty-five packed out performances in September and October 2017. Derren Brown: Underground is presented by Michael Vine, Andrew O’Connor, Derren Brown and Paul Sandler for Vaudeville Productions Ltd. and David Binder. It is directed by Andrew O’Connor and Andy Nyman, and written by Andy Nyman, Andrew O’Connor and Derren Brown. See What's On for current tour dates. 14.4.18
