Anthony Owen

 

 

Anthony Owen is a Member of the Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star. He is a professional magician, magic consultant, writer and producer who lives in London.

He's one of the four directors of Dynamic Fx Limited a company specialising in providing magicians and magic for corporate events. His corporate clients include The Disney Channel, Rolls Royce, BMW and Peugeot. He has created material for David Copperfield, Paul Daniels, Geoffrey Durham and numerous television and live shows.

Since 1995, with John Lenahan, Anthony has co-produced Monday Night Magic, the UK's only regular magic and comedy venue with a recently-opened franchise in New York. He's lectured and performed at magic conventions in the UK and USA and has made over 100 appearances on television in the UK (including four series as resident magician).

He was Magic Consultant on Stuff the White Rabbit (Granada/BBC 2 1996), The Royal Variety Performance (LWT 1997), The Animal Magic Show (BBC1 1999 and 2000), Extreme Magic Extreme Danger (LWT 2000), The Quick Trick Show (ITV 2000) and co-created the BBC1 series Paul Daniels Secrets (1995). He Co-Produced 'In Search of the Indian Rope Trick,' a travel documentary on Issamuddin's 1997 performance of the Indian Rope Trick and Marc Paul's Mind Games (16 episode mentalism series, 1999). He is the producer of the third series of The Quick Trick Show which begins on February 26th on ITV and is about to begin work on the fourth series to be shown this autumn. He was also a consultant on Derren Brown: Mind Control (Channel 4, 2000).

He has written and/or edited and published over thirty books for magicians and has released two video tapes of performance material (The Dungeon Video and Dynamic Walkaround Magic). From 1993 to 1995 he edited and published his own quarterly journal for magicians, The Dungeon, and he currently edits The Young Magician, the bi monthly magazine of The Magic Circle Youth Initiative (since Jan 1996) and (since August'98) The Magic Circular, the monthly magazine of The Magic Circle (including the bumper 1000th issue).

Anthony's performance material has been published in MAGIC, Genii, The Linking Ring (including One Man Parade - November 2000), The Minotaur (Special 'Dungeon' issue), Channel One, The Crimp and all the major UK magic magazines.
