Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) are looking for a couple of
magicians to help out with a Family Fun Day at the Mailbox in Birmingham
on Saturday 10th July. As they are a charity they can't offer financial
reimbursement but the event will be attended by local families so there
will be an opportunity to promote your services. The Family Fun Day is one
of the events held to launch the annual Walk to Cure Diabetes. These walks
are taking place all over the country throughout September. The aim of the
Walk and the reason that JDRF was founded is to raise money to fund vital
research into a cure for Type 1 (Juvenile) diabetes. "The Fun Day is an
opportunity for families who are affected by diabetes to find out how to
get involved in the Birmingham Walk. The event will conclude with a 2 hour
canal cruise (11am-1pm) and it would be fantastic if we could have a couple
of magicians on the barges to keep the children entertained" writes
Regional Administrator Clare Mackenzie. If you feel you can help please
call or email Clare for further information. Telephone 0121 685 7104 Email

are expecting Zenner-Tech to arrive in the first week of July. "A
standard pack of ESP cards is displayed to the audience. The performer
sticks a small white sticker to the back of each card and mixes them up.
The spectator freely decides which of the five symbols to draw on each
card and one by one the cards are flipped over... each card perfectly
matches what is drawn on its back, and the cards may be fully examined!"
