The
Blackpool Magicians' Club Convention have already registered 2,500
magicians from all over the world... and it looks like it's heading for a
complete sell out! Arthur
Casson the Registration Officer has drafted in additional staff to cope
with the unprecedented number of enquiries. The BMC believe that the
popularity of the Convention has increased even more this year due to the
extended Dealer opening hours (from 1pm on Friday 23rd February) and the
booking of 16 International Close-up performers for the first time.

Three
lectures and an
Evening of Magic and Illusion. Sunday 28th January at the Bonington Theatre, Arnold Leisure Centre,

Star of Monkey Magic and Dirty Tricks Pete Firman (photo) tops the
bill, together with Marc Oberon, Vizage, Brian Sefton, Marcus Blake and
Neil Haywood. Show time 7.30pm - 10pm, (Doors open at 7pm). Tickets £12
each. During the afternoon Marc Oberon, Brian Sefton and William Houstoun
will be lecturing. Marc Oberon will be revealing some of the secrets from
his award wining act. Brian Sefton presents his "Tips on Manips" lecture
and William Houston the current British Magical Champion of Close-up Magic
will show us why he holds that title. For the lectures doors open at
1.30pm and they'll run from 2pm - 5.30pm with a short interval between
