Masked Magician gets Frozen Out! Last week we reported on ITV4's callous television scheduling, which had the genuinely groundbreaking David Blaine: Magic Man on Sunday 24th at 7pm, immediately being followed by exposure show Breaking the Magician's Code at 8pm. The good news is that ITV4 have now pulled Breaking the Magician's Code - replacing it with another David Blaine special: David Blaine - Frozen in Time at 8pm instead. All the weekly TV guides will have Breaking the Magician's Code listed, but it's not going to be shown following David Blaine... the bad news is that the following week, ITV4 are running two Masked Magician shows back to back, in the same time slot as the previous week's Blaine shows. 23.6.07

"Mr Magnificent; Highlight of the Night!" 84 Tips And Pointers To Pave YOUR Way To Professional And Financial Success As A Close-Up Magician is the rather fantastic title of a just-published booklet by close-up magician and cardshark Drummond Money-Coutts. This is a great little guide that crams 84 tips and pointers into its 16 pages, just as the title suggests. I didn't agree with points 17, 53, 55 and 69 - but out of 84 points on offer that's not too bad! You'll have to buy a copy to see if you agree or disagree with me. Retailing at just £4.50 this really should be an essential purchase for every close-up magician, regardless of whether you are just starting out or have been at it for years. In fact, if you have been at it for years then you should definitely order a copy. Highly recommended. Release date: Monday 25th June, exclusively at Davenports, London.
