ZanesMagicShop.com
has had a makeover. The site features many exclusive lines, including
Zane's Fly Catcher: "A spectator's chosen card is revealed in the form
of a squashed dead fly! If you like your magic to freak people out then
you'll love this trick! From the creator of 'Con-fused' Zane has now come
up with a truly unusual and bizarre effect. Guaranteed to give you a buzz!
A card is chosen and signed and returned to the deck. But when the
magician is about to attempt to find their card he becomes irritated by a
fly, cuts the deck in half and slams the two halves together, exclaiming
'I think I got it!' Yes he has caught the fly which is seen now squashed
onto the back of a card but when the spectators look closer they are in
for a real shock because the squashed and mangled fly's legs and body have
formed themselves into the shape of the chosen card!" Find out more,

On
top of their game. Andrew Murray and John Carey were invited to
Wembley Stadium last Saturday to entertain 1000 VIP's at The FA Cup Final
between Cardiff City and Portsmouth. Just as pre-match betting closed,
Andrew produced a prediction of the match score, the goal scorer and time
that the goal would be scored at. 90 minutes later he was proven right -
on all three counts!

Barry
Miller's swansong show at the Mick Jagger theatre, Saturday 10th May.
Barry put on the show in aid of Darenth Valley Hospital as a thank you for
the life-saving surgery they administered to him a few months ago. I have
seen Barry perform many many times under all sorts of conditions and I can
tell you I have never seen him better. It was a wonderful swansong
befitting the old-pro that he is. Ably supported by a young group of
dancers and a super lady ballad singer, Barry, also introduced, as the
future of magic, Megan Knowles-Bacon with the act that we all know and
love. Barry performed Invisible Deck, a great rope routine, a vanishing
watch that ended up in a sealed tin of baked beans and his signature Dart
Catching in the Mouth. Amongst the many illusions he featured were
Floating Lady, Dissected Lady, Girl Through Mirror, Sword Through Neck,
Escape from Steel Rings and, to finish, the famous Zig Zag Illusion. Barry
bid farewell by saying that it was time for him to disappear, upon which
he walked out of the spotlight for the very last time. Reported by Jack
Delvin.

Telethought
Wallet by Chris Kenworthey - UK Exclusive! "Once in a while something
comes along that I just have to rave about! This is it! I am very proud
that Chris has allowed me to sell this here in the UK! Imagine a spectator
is invited to think of any word, symbol, picture, number, etc. He writes
it on a card. It is inserted into a sleek, black wallet face down. Nothing
is ever added or taken away. Without any moves at all, without withdrawing
anything from the wallet, one hundred percent of the spectator’s
information is delivered secretly, ingeniously, and imperceptibly to the
performer. The principle relies on state-of-the-art, cutting edge
technology. The Telethought Wallet - in stock now, visit

That
Reminds Me: Finding the Funny in a Serious World (Paperback). "Michael
Close’s book, 'That Reminds Me: Finding the Funny in a Serious World,' is
a painful read. Your face and sides hurt from laughing. It should be a
breezy afternoon romp — it’s just 211 pages, but when you factor in
stopping to laugh each time you read one of the classic jokes, it may take
you a few days to get through it. Maybe longer, if you stop to tell the
jokes to your friends. It’s not your typical joke book because it includes
personal revelations by Close, a jazz pianist and sleight-of-hand
magician..." Jerry Fink reviews "That Reminds Me" in Las Vegas Sun
