Death
Defying Acts. The year is 1926, and Houdini (Guy Pearce) is a
household name. Isolated by fame and drowning in regret over having not
been present to hear his mother's last words, Houdini announces that he
will pay $10,000 to anyone who can prove spiritual contact with his
deceased mother. But in his determination to prove that there is life
after death, he becomes the target of countless charlatans, scam
artists, and self-proclaimed spiritualists... Starring Guy Pearce,

horse's head, who, along with the audience, will decide which magic pony

Stuart, hilarious trickster Alan Hudson, Lee Hathaway, Neil Henry, James
Pritchard, Dark Mistress of magic Careena Fenton and a musical dance
interlude from Madame Galina the fat ballerina. All expertly compered by
our modern day Tommy Cooper, Christian Lee. Proceeds from ticket sales
will be donated to AddAction the UK’s largest specialist drug and
alcohol treatment charity, working with 26,000 people every year. They
also work with children like Holly, growing up in families where mum or

Presto Show, March 20th, Bingley. Tickets for Bradford Magic
Circle's annual 'Hey Presto' production are now available. This year's

David Blaine's Vertigo
is being repeated on Friday 8th January on Channel 4 (TV
Magic), offering a chance to once again see David Blaine's famous
stunt, when he attempted to balance on top of a small freestanding
pillar, 100 feet above the streets of New York, for 35 hours. With no
food, water, or sleep Blaine tested his
physical and emotional endurance to the limit.

Mini

Nyman and Anthony Owen will be having a mini-magic clear-out for the new
year. There will be lots of books, tricks and 'stuff' on offer at very

Des
& Cherry King are currently onboard MS Insignia in the middle of
their winter contract for Oceania Cruises. The ship is cruising in South
America and on Christmas Day they, together with cruise director David
Peterson, dressed as Santa Claus, and went along to Aldeas Infantiles
SOS, which is an orphanage in Montevideo, Uruguay. Santa delivered
Christmas gifts bought with contributions given by officers and staff on
board, and Des & Cherry entertained the children with some magic. It was
a great day; the children really appreciated the visit and Des, Cherry
and David really enjoyed sharing their Christmas Day with the children

Adrian
Sullivan will present his 'Easy Miracles' lecture at Bolton
Magician's Club on Wednesday 6th January at the Doffcocker Inn, Chorley
Old Road, Bolton at 8.30 pm. Adrian is perhaps best known for the card
effect 'Eliminator' and his ability to make performing good magic seem
easy. Visiting magician's from other societies are most welcome. There

Joan Raffles. Sad news to relate that
Joan Raffles, Mark's wife, passed away on Boxing Day. Mark and Joan were
married for 60 years and she spent a large amount of that time assisting
him on stage. Of a sunny nature she will be sorely missed by her many
friends in magic and beyond.
