The
59th Blackpool Magic Convention begins at 9am sharp on Friday, 18th
February with seventy magicians (yes, seventy!) participating in the
first ever FISM European Championships of Magic. This year you can
expect to see 32 Close-up artistes, 61 Stage Performers, 8 Lecturers and
4 Children's Lecturers. Added to this there will be the usual dealer’s
showcase with some 125 international magic dealers displaying the latest
must-have miracles. And, as if that wasn't enough, there will be a
massive magic auction in the Spanish Hall on the Thursday, the day
before the official start of the convention! Registrations are already
at an all-time high and only 250 tickets remain out of the initial 3,000
- you don't have to be Derren Brown to predict that it will be a
sell-out. Registration forms are available on the Blackpool Magicians’
Club website
www.blackpoolmagic.com. At only £85 per person the Blackpool
Convention represents excellent value for money. The World's Biggest
Magic Convention just got bigger - don't miss it!

John
Archer will be making several appearances at the week-long South
Tyneside International Magic Festival, which begins its eighth year
in South Shields on Monday, March 7th. The comedy magician, who has been
performing professionally for the past 13 years, was one of only two
magicians on the ITV special Penn & Teller: Fool Us to actually fool the
magical duo and as a result John will now have the opportunity to open
for them in their show at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. After
that John will be making a number of appearances at the South Tyneside
International Magic Festival, including compering the Gala Show at the
Customs House theatre on Friday, March 11th – which he has done for the
past few years. The multi-award winning magician will also be delivering
a lecture and performing in the special Midnight Show, both of which are
open solely to professional magicians and the most dedicated magic fans,
as part of the three-day Magic Convention, which runs as part of the
festival from March 11th to March 13th. Tickets for the South Tyneside
International Magic Festival’s Gala show are available directly from the
theatre on 0191 454 1234 or via
www.customshouse.co.uk priced from £12. Tickets for the three-day
Magic Convention are available by emailing

Look out for Poz in an anti-violence film that has been produced

really!

The 'Grismer Lock' News from Steve Cook: "Steve Cook welcomes
enquiries from those seriously interested in purchasing from him the
sole world rights to world 's most exclusive magical lock, The 'Grismer
Lock'. I am thinning-down my magic transactions, and this is the only
reason I would part with the rights to this wonderful lock. The late Ray
Grismer granted me the sole world rights to it some years back, after
seeing and praising the new model which was produced for me by my good
friend, and master locksmith, Mick Hanzlik. Whoever takes over the
rights to this lock will, I'm sure, still have the services of Mick to
hand. I also supply a beautiful A4 booklet with the lock, and recently,
Richard Osterlind has very kindly submitted his own previously
unpublished routine for the lock, which is now to be included with
future sales, and only, to those purchasers of the Grismer Lock. Email
me only if you are seriously interested in this great opportunity...
don't miss out! Thank you."

Friends and clients of Adrian Harris may be wondering why they
have not been able to make contact since early December... When Adrian
and May returned from Australia after Boxing day, they found a burst
water tank had caused extensive damage to their home. They had to move
into temporary accommodation and are currently still waiting for the
phone and broadband to be re-instated. Adrian had to suspend his magic
dealing, but will definitely be at Blackpool as usual and the backlog of
correspondence will be dealt with as soon as possible.
