This year sees the 50th anniversary of the Magic Circle’s Young Magician of the Year Competition, and on Sunday, 18th September a very special day long event is being planned to commemorate it at The Magic Circle's HQ in London. Open to everyone this full day of lectures, presentations, close-up and stage shows will be unique in that all artists appearing will be past entrants of this celebrated Competition. Noel Britten, who is organizing the event entitled "YMOTY Revisited" says, "the incredibly wide range of magic related activities that some of the entrants have gone into, and the levels that they have reached in their selected areas shows the great range of talent that this Competition has fostered over the years. And I’m not just talking about the winners. Many of the finalists are now at the top of their particular field, and I am very happy to say that a great number of them have agreed to come along and support what looks to be a very special day. In putting the event together I’ve been genuinely surprised how many well-established magicians have been in the finals of the competition – some truly surprising from a way back and can't have been called "Young" for quite a while now! And some who entered under their real names, and whose connections to the Competition have only recently come to light." The tickets are very limited in number, and priced at £27 (for young magicians under 18 and their guardians), £35 (for Magic Circle Members), and £45 (for non-members). Email noelbritten@themagiccircle.co.uk to register or for more details. 5.2.11

Wayne Dobson's latest publication features 10 incredible "hands-off" routines: "The one condition I set myself in developing these routines is that effects would not be diluted just because they were "hands-off" – in fact, if anything, they would become stronger.
