Scott Wells lectures at The Surrey Society of Magicians on Thursday 23rd May: "These are troubling economic times all over the world and the entertainment industry is taking the brunt of the downturn. Scott Wells' lecture, 'Alternate Streams of Revenue' provides information, ideas and suggestions on how and where you might find some additional work using the expertise you already have. This lecture will help teach you how to exercise your creative muscle to find alternative venues to perform. This lecture is heavy on marketing ideas but it also includes loads of practical, commercial tricks for use in each of these venues. Tricks will include close up, parlor, stage and Mentalism plus more. There is something for every skill level regardless of whether you are a beginner, intermediate of advanced conjuror. Ian Adair will be launching his latest and final book in his Kids' Magic series at the Trix in the Stix convention (20th-21st May). Novel Notions for Kids' Shows is the eleventh in the series, containing 40 original effects and routines over 124 pages. Ian says that some of his best ideas are included in this publication and that the material has been tried and tested in front of audiences of children of all ages. Over the period of the last two years the complete series, consisting of more than two thousand pages must surely be a record of some sorts. "I've enjoyed writing and illustrating these as well as being able to share my ideas with fellow children's entertainers." Ian said. Celtic Storm, Magic, Dance & Illusion: "Celtic Storm, Magic, Dance & Illusion performed and closed the show at the Bristol Day of Magic last Sunday. This was the first time Martin and Kerry had performed together in nearly two years due to the arrival of their little boy Sullivan.
