Evening of Deception - Cheltenham.
"Gloucestershire’s only contemporary magic show,
'An Evening of Deception', is
back at the Everyman Studio for 2015. Now in its sixth year, the show has always
sold out and this year looks like being no exception.
Headlining is the fabulous Peter Clifford (photo) fresh from his own sell-out
show at the Tobacco Factory in Bristol. Peter was part of the original creative
team for Derren Brown’s TV shows and co-created and directed Derren’s first UK
tour and West-end run. He has worked as a magical advisor for many theatre
productions and is also an accomplished actor. Last year he played the lead role
of the Cheltenham Victorian magician, JN Maskelyne, in 'The Mysterious
Gentleman'. Peter’s magic is classy, sublime and mindblowing! Joining Peter will
be Magician and Mindreader Kieron Kirkland who will bring his unique blend of
technology and magic to An Evening of Deception. Prepare to be amazed by his all
knowing lie detecting robotic monkey and the world's first (and only) brain
controlling headbands!

Introducing
The Classic Leveridge Range. Over the last 30 years Mark Leveridge has
released a huge number of original routines and ideas. While some of these
earlier products are still available to this day, there are a number of other
excellent effects which have not been part of Mark's catalogue for many years,
which means that many magicians today will not have seen them. With this in
mind, Mark is now going to make a small number of the best of these earlier
releases available again for a limited period as part of The Classic
Leveridge Range. The first product under this new banner is Ultimate
Jumbo Stretch, a cheeky jumbo card routine for stand-up work or a close-up
show. Easy to do, the special set of cards supplied enables you to apparently
stretch and then shrink again a Jumbo court card, with a nice little twist at
the finish. You can get your copy of this fun effect right now from
www.markleveridge.co.uk/ujs.php.

Ian
Adair is preparing a book on the comedy magic of the late Johnny Geddes.
Scottish born Johnny was billed as 'The Biggest Dope in Magic', and for decades
appeared regularly on stage and television, at one time having his own TV
series. As an originator of comedy effects and prop gags, he created almost two
thousand which appeared in most of the magic magazines of the day. He authored
several books; Gags with Gimmicks, published by Max Andrews being his
best known. Johnny was also a theatrical agent, and later in life had his own
magic and joke shop in Dundee. Ian is anxious to hear from magicians who knew
Johnny, in particular those who may have interesting stories to share. He is
also seeking photos of Johnny (coloured or black & white) for publication, to
add to others he already has. Contributors would be acknowledged in the book.

Peterborough
Society of Magicians. John Learoyd writes: Peterborough Society of Magicians
experienced a most enjoyable lecture/come workshop, at their monthly meeting on
Tuesday 17th March when Peter Gardini entertained them. Peter's lecture was a
truly refreshing change from what we have come to expect, with many of the
effects being made by Peter. Not only did Peter teach the methods, but also how
to make the props which looked very professional and certainly as good as many of
the products offered to us at not inconsiderable prices. Peter gave us a most
enjoyable evening. Many Thanks Peter from all at PSM.
