The
Academy of Magic and Science: 'Recoding Wellbeing - Rethinking
Healthcare through Magic' convention. From the organisers:
We are very excited to invite you to attend a unique convention to
Recoding Wellbeing - Rethinking Healthcare through Magic, looking at how
through magic we can empower patients and doctors to facilitate the
healing process. The event is a think tank, focused in probing a shift in
perspective to reframe healthcare through magic!
The Academy of
Magic and Science, our educational partner, is organising in
Cambridge a fascinating conference with panel discussions,
experiential labs, workshops and the human flourishing show!
According to the World Health Organisation "Health is a state of complete physical, mental and
social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity".
Our aim is to probe a shift in perspective and reframe healthcare
through magic and make this vision a reality. How can we facilitate the
healing process? How can we alleviate the burden of illness? Can we
empower hospital patients and staff with the thriving mindsets which best
support recovery during a hospital stay?
The Academy of Magic and Science has been supported by the Cambridge
University
Accelerator of the Judge Business School and is an official partner
of FISM.
When: 12th of November 2017, 9.30am-7.30pm. Where: St John's College,
University of Cambridge, UK. Register now at:
www.eventbrite.co.uk
and enjoy an exclusive 20% discount using the code: MagicWeek20
While various registration options are available, we encourage you to
register early as the number of participants is limited. Looking forward
to share this special day with you!
Magic wishes, Antonia Symeonidou, University of Cambridge.

Kevin
Quantum Quantum Magic. Catface Talent presents: Kevin Quantum
Quantum Magic.
After sell out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe every year since 2015,
critically acclaimed Scottish magician Kevin Quantum makes his London
debut with a one-off show at the Clapham Grand on Saturday 2nd December.
The show ‘Quantum Magic’ combines state of the art magic with incredible
science. As magic creatures go, Kevin fits somewhere between Gandalf and
Brian Cox and is the closest thing to real magic a believer, or a cynic
will ever find. Quantum Magic fuses sketch comedy, magic and science -
from laugh out loud moments to remarkable feats of mental ability
alongside sci-fi inspired illusions. Expect the impossible: think of a
drink - he'll make it appear, watch personal objects getting teleported
onto the stage and money appearing from thin air and gasp when an
audience member gets suspended in space!
7.30pm on Saturday 2nd December at Clapham Grand, 1-25 St John's Hill,
London SW11 1TT (Map).

death of his boss. A half century later, a Blackpool joke shop
proprietor takes on a wide-eyed young protégé. An affectionate look at a
misspent youth and unsung heroes; a touching true story of interlocking
lives. Not a magic show, but magical nonetheless."
