James Went Lectures at The Surrey Society of Magicians on Thursday 8th November (also see above). Adam Mosley writes: Drawing on his vast experience as both a TV/Theatre Magician and also as a corporate performer, James brings you his first full lecture show. The material covered includes tricks from his highly rated Big Blind Media DVD 'Meditations', as well as new unreleased magic from his current set of notes 'A Book' only available at lectures. As a self confessed card nerd, James will demonstrate effects using a deck of cards running the gamut of self-working tricks, up to advanced sleight of hand, ensuring that everyone will take away something of use from the lecture. In addition, there is also mentalism and some coin magic, as well as advice and stories from his experiences as a magic consultant. All delivered in an informative, charming and entertaining way. The 2018 Magician of Mann. Mike Clague writes: The 2018 Magician of Mann is Lexi Dernie, who was awarded the Arthur Culpin Challenge Cup at 'An Evening of Magic' at the Centenary Centre in Peel on 27th October. Members of the Magicians of Mann compete annually for the trophy, first awarded in 1959, and Lexi - also a member of The Magic Circle - is the first lady to win it.
