South
Tyneside International Magic Festival 11th, 12th, 13th October 2019.
Steve Gore writes: I
am pleased to announce our first artiste for the 2019 South Tyneside
International Magic Festival in October is Mario the Magic Maker, making
his UK debut (see
facebook.com/mariothemagician). As seen on Sesame Street and Sprout, Mario
'The Maker Magician' Marchese
is a New York based children's performer known for his DIY
robotic creations, handmade props, and signature slapstick character. He
has been touted as "the best kids magician in the world!" by David Blaine
and was the opening act for the most recent 2018 David Blaine live tour.
Mario’s show is an upbeat, hilarious, and very interactive experience
that leaves children and families inspired to nurture their own creative
paths. Here is a short documentary about him
YouTube. "From a robotic monkey sideshow to spinning lapel flowers, Mario builds
it all himself, a skill honed on the road, that not only has gained him
recognition in America’s maker movement, but also factors into the
business's philosophy itself." The Huffington Post.
11-13th October 2019. Book today, tickets are now on sale for the full convention. For £65 you get access to
all lectures, Q&A's, Close-up sessions, Dealers' Room and 2 Gala Shows. You can
also finish the night at the exclusive Late Show on the Friday evening

Cheltenham’s
Everyman Theatre saw the return of 'An Evening of Deception' in
February 2019 with a sell-out four show run featuring three Magic Circle
members, all professional full-time magicians. Steve Knibbs, BBC Points
West reporter, himself a magic fan, introduced Richard Parsons MMC
(pickpocket act), Kerry Scorah AIMC (magic act) and Mark Cairns MMC
(mind reading) with ‘Backstage Paul’ Duggan steering the ship from
behind the scenes. The show was enjoyed by all, with many of the
audience commenting on how it was great to see such a variety of
different live magic acts in one family show.
One parent of a keen young magician in the audience - Harley, 9, sent
the cast a wonderful message after the first night: "Can you let all the
magicians know they made my boy the happiest boy ever and made him want
to learn magic even more...magic isn’t daft and if anyone takes the mick
out of him for doing it he knows that one day he may be doing what you
are all doing..." Well done team! 'An Evening of Deception' is sure to
return.

on the Roof, which is about to transfer to the West End. Plus why he

and more. Plus 'What's Going On' with funny man Alan Hudson.
