Pete
Firman's brand new tour, ‘Pete Firman & The Amazing TBC’, following 12th
appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe. Corrie McGuire Management is delighted
to announce that award-winning magician and comedian, Pete Firman, will tour the
UK with his most ambitious show yet, following his return to the Edinburgh
Fringe this summer. Beginning in Maidenhead at the Norden Farm Arts Centre on
13th March 2020, the tour will take in an initial total of 22 dates and will
conclude at the Cambridge Junction on 15th May 2020. Tickets are on sale now at
www.petefirman.co.uk.
Pete is back on the road with a completely unique
and hilarious new kind of magic show. Come and witness the first and possibly
final performances of The World’s Greatest Magical Double Act. Every night Pete
will be joined by a different special guest who has no previous conjuring
experience, and together they will perform jaw-dropping magic without any
rehearsal. What could possibly go wrong?! Pete Firman said: “I’m thrilled to
be back on tour with a different style of magic show. I'll be placing my trust
(and reputation!) in the hands of some special guests with buckets of
enthusiasm, but zero sleight of hand skills. Suffice to say we won't be starting
them off with sawing me in half!” Photo credit: Karla Gowlett.

Nate
Staniforth Creativity & Wonder Workshop. From the organisers: The author of
’Here Is Real Magic’ and ‘Clouds & Kingdoms’, perhaps best known for
his Lottery Prediction, presenting Breaking Magic on The Discovery Channel and
being one of Derren Brown’s favourite magicians, is presenting a very special
workshop on Sunday 13th October 2019.
"Over the last 15 years of touring, I’ve explored
the enormous gulf between performances that feel like the demonstration of
tricks and those moments that feel like actual magic. Call it whatever you
like—every magician knows that moment where the stars align, the magic happens,
and the spectators run screaming from the room. So for this workshop, I’d like
to take a whole day to explore some of the tools and creative models I’ve been
using to create and perform magic for the public. We’re going to unpack a few
original pieces from my own show so these ideas can be seen in a practical
context, and ideally each participant will come ready to discuss a piece from
their own work, too." 50% of the places are now sold and we’re keeping that
early bird discount to help keep the cost of the workshop as low as we can. Full
details and to book:

The Comedy Years, Sunday 4th August, on
ITV. "In 1984, as the miners' strike took over
the news, political figures were on the receiving end of the most
irreverent comedy series ever seen on TV at the time - Spitting Image.
Plus, cult hits like The Young Ones and Alas Smith and Jones battled it
out in the TV schedules with mainstream shows like Russ Abbott's
Madhouse. We also lost two comedy greats with the passing of Eric
Morecambe and Tommy Cooper." See

Don
Wayne. Don Wayne, one of magic's greatest ever magic creators, died on July
19th. He was David Copperfield's principal magic creator and illusion director
for over 18 years. Other magic clients included, amongst others: Siegfried &
Roy, Criss Angel, Hans Klok and Luis de Matos. I'll always remember
him as being the creator of the brilliantly simple one-man Dancing Hanky
gimmick. Here's a link to a recent project he worked on in Norway, just last
month:
