Fay Presto's 'Like Tears in the Rain' lecture - South London Magic Society, 15th October. Simon Rosselli writes: South London Magic Society host Fay Presto's 'Like Tears in the Rain' lecture on Tuesday October 15th at 8pm. It is about all of the tiny little things that together add up to a table of wonder. There is a danger that all these things will be lost in time, like tears in the rain. Teller said of Fay’s lecture notes: "Absolutely brilliant. Every bit of it". Fay has been the Magician in Residence at Langan's Brasserie for 40 years and has probably performed to over 100,000 tables, so she should know what she is doing by now. A Gold Star Member of The Inner Magic Circle, she won their Close-up Competition in 2012 and received a standing ovation from a thousand magicians for her lecture at the Blackpool Magic Convention in 2017. Her style has always been humorous, self-deprecating and above all, fun. The lecture is at 8pm on Tuesday 15th October. £10 for non-members (visiting magicians are welcome). Troy: The Highwire is being repeated on Sunday 13th October on Channel 4. From the programme makers: "In this one-off special, magician Troy is set a seemingly impossible challenge: to perform a brand new illusion while balancing in mid air. Troy has just two months to learn how to walk on a highwire and design a magic trick that can be performed at altitude. It's the worst possible scenario for a magician: being exposed on all sides and unable to use his hands - while trying not fall off. Troy must conquer his fear of heights. He assembles a team of brilliant magicians to help crack the challenge - shining a light on the process of magic. Along the way, Troy tests some mind blowing new tricks, including a master class in misdirection and seemingly making the moon vanish." See TV Magic for details. 5.10.19

A month into the life of the new MLM website it seems to be finding favour with many customers. Three types of magical exposure are considered. How to free up time to be consistently magically creative. Mark breaks patter down into half a dozen different types. Does the ‘magician in trouble, then comes good’ plot still have any relevance?
