& West Blackpool Magicians' Club Lecture - open to all magicians -
8pm Tuesday 9th February online. About the lecture: The first
half is all about three effects from our show Parlour Tricks in quite
some depth, and covers everything from methods to thinking behind why
the tricks are done the way they are. Two of the tricks are excellent
for solo performers, one of the tricks is used to illustrate how you can
take a ‘classic’ and find your own trick in it.
The second half is all about coding and teaches really simple and
straight-forward codes for everyone to learn and get playing with right
away. Very few people talk openly about coding in mentalism and magic,
so we want to show others just how much fun it can be to play with. We
also talk in full about our most complicated code tricks. It’s something
very different and has always been well received by magicians from
Blackpool to Magic Live in Vegas.
The lecture is fully supported by video performances and slide shows so
it’s not just two heads on a screen talking at you, we wanted to make it
as interesting, as fun, and most importantly as engaging as possible.

Hertford magician Lewis Starnes featured on last week's episode of
Penn &
Teller: Fool Us in the States. Having worked in the advertising industry for 15 years, Lewis
tried to fool the Vegas duo with a routine that blended marketing and magic.
The second half of season 7 was filmed during Covid, so
international acts performed their routine via video link and were interviewed
over Zoom. Remarking on this, Lewis said "after a year of slightly mundane work
related calls, chatting casually in my kitchen to Alyson Hannigan and Penn &

of Robert Harbin. Paul Temple writes: Magic of Robert Harbin was published
in 1970 under a strict limited edition of just 500 copies. Harbin keep a list of
names of all those that had a copy of this now much sort after work, but sadly,
shortly after his death, the master list of owners disappeared. 50 years later a
small group of enthusiasts and dedicated owners are attempting to compile a new
list of the whereabouts of as many of the surviving copies as possible. Can you
