Anthony Owen. Andy Nyman writes: Astonishingly April 12th will be the second anniversary of Anthony Owen’s death. It’s still seems impossible to me that one of my best friends could take his own life without me having a clue it would happen. Male suicide continues to be a major problem that devastates and this year in particular has put terrible strains on our mental health. The concerns and pressure we feel to be providers for ourselves and our families has been so difficult as our income streams have been taken away from us. If you or a friend have been struggling, please reach out to someone and tell them. If you need to do that in confidence visit CALM and talk to them. They will help and phone lines are open every day from 5pm-midnight. www.thecalmzone.net/help/get-help

Anthony’s family still need support, so any help you can give, no matter how small, will really make a huge difference to his children’s futures: www.gofundme.com/f/anthony-owen-family-fund. Let’s stay strong, stay positive, be vigilant towards our friends and loved ones and keep treating each other with kindness. Love to all, Andy x.

Silk to Chocolate by Sean Yang - Magicbox. Exclusive Magicbox version: No DIY, ready to go, includes everything you need, with exclusive video instructions. Love Silk to Egg? So do we... however it has a few drawbacks: The mess you are left with afterwards. Matching the gimmick with an egg you have, breaking the egg prematurely! With Silk to Chocolate you don’t have any of those issues to worry about. It's perfect for Zoom shows, Stage, Cabaret, Close-up, Socially distanced shows, Restaurants, Close-up for kids and more. Show a silk and tuck it into a closed fist. With a gentle blow, the silk has transformed into a gorgeous chocolate! A new rendition to the classic effect "Silk to Egg"! Replace the egg with a chocolate, making the effect seemingly more impromptu and delicious! To conclude, you can even give out the chocolate as a souvenir at the end of the routine! Six children do mimes of the six different animals shown on the cards and a seventh child selects his favourite. The magician turns out to have a picture of that selection in his wallet or in a small envelope already on his table. David Regal's Colour Changing Knives - PropDog: It isn’t a secret that one staff member at PropDog has posters of David Regal on his walls, so it is no surprise that they teamed up with David to bring his Colour Changing Knives to the UK. The routine doesn’t differ wildly from the traditional, but David Regal has added a light-hearted premise which justifies why you are carrying a knife and the colour changes. However the really big difference is the knives themselves. These aren’t modified off the shelf knives but purposely designed props for this effect. The look and weight is just perfect. This effect has been popular for generations and has been performed by the greats such as Ascanio; it has just been waiting for the Regal touch! The first sets sold out immediately, but a handful of the latest delivery are still available. David Regal’s Colour Changing Knives: www.propdog.co.uk. 10.4.21
