MagicWeek at 21. I vividly remember putting together and uploading the very first issue of MagicWeek for Saturday 1st July, 2000. The internet was still in its infancy, with a slow 1p a minute dial-up connection and a "fingers crossed" element to it all. Google and PayPal had only launched about a year earlier, and there was no Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok or Snapchat... MagicWeek was at the start of something new. Here's an article I wrote in back in 2010, looking at MagicWeek's first ten years and how it came in to being: Click Here.

If you know me as "the guy that does MagicWeek" here are a couple of video clips of my magic act. The first is from a guest spot on Wayne Dobson's A Kind of Magic in 1992 YouTube and the second, with my wife Keiko, in an appearance on The Paul Daniels Magic Show during The Magic Circle Centenary Celebration in London, in 2005, with an illusion that I invented, and also built (back in 1993) in our then tiny kitchen in our first-floor flat! YouTube.

I always loved magic growing up, and never let it go. If you're reading this then the chances are you're the same. Magic really is a wonderful, creative and rewarding hobby or profession and through it great friendships are made. I would like to thank the many hundreds of magicians who have contributed to MagicWeek during the past 21 years, the Magic Dealers who have supported it with their advertising, more recently the MagicWeek Backers, and you, the end user, the reader! Thank you all. Here's to the next 21 years, Duncan. 26.6.21
