Dynamo
is Dead. Live on Sky Max and streaming service NOW world renowned magician
Dynamo is set to be killed by his creator as the finale to a jaw-dropping
two-hour special: Dynamo is Dead. This feature length show will see
Dynamo defy all odds by burying himself alive.
From walking on water to levitating above skyscrapers, Dynamo has become famous
around the world for doing the impossible. And now the nation’s most admired
magician is back with this brand-new not-to-be-missed TV special. Viewers will
be left on the edge of their seats as they buckle up and prepare to watch Dynamo
put his life on the line. Dynamo will dig his own grave in preparation for his
perilous and climactic challenge, which will culminate in him laying Dynamo to
rest.
Dynamo is Dead will see the magician's journey of loss and hope. In the
darkness, Dynamo hit rock bottom, but in the light he found strength. Viewers
will follow Dynamo’s journey through recent conversations with Tyson Fury, Demi
Lovato, Coldplay, Cara Delevingne and Steven Bartlett, taking Dynamo and viewers
one step closer to discovering his freedom, as the guests uncover magic within
themselves before the grand finale.
The show was commissioned by Phil Edgar-Jones, Director of Sky Arts and
Entertainment, for Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content at Sky. The
Commissioning Editor for Sky is Shirley Jones. The show is co-produced by
Expectation TV and Seventeen. The executive producers are Dynamo, Rowland
French, Ben Wicks and Josh Berger. Dynamo is Dead will air live at 9pm on
Sky Max and streaming service NOW, on 14th December in the UK.

Houdini's

Martin
Cox Auction - Watford Association of Magicians. Andy Clockwise
writes: On Tuesday 5th December, the Watford Association of Magicians
will be holding an auction on behalf of the late, great Martin Cox at
their HQ. Martin had been in the business a very long time, and over
that time had collected a lot of Magic. Not everything that Martin
purchased made it into his shows, for one reason or another, and many
items are still brand new and sealed in their original packaging. As
well as these items there will of course be pieces that Martin did
perform with and this will be a great opportunity to pick up something
personally used by Martin in a performance.
The auction will be held on Tuesday 5th December at the Henderson Hub, Abbotts Langley, Hertfordshire WD5 0AR with a large car park nearby. Doors will open at 7.30pm and the auction will start at 8pm prompt. This is an "open" evening at the WAM HQ and if you do come along, please bring cash as it will be a cash only auction. All items will start at £1 and there will be no reserve on any items so you're sure to grab yourself a bargain. All proceeds from the auction will go to Martin's family. 18.11.23

McGhie Lecture - The Order of The Magi, Manchester. Mike Sharples
writes: The Order of The Magi is very pleased to announce that on the
28th November we have a lecture from the amazing Mr. Roddy McGhie. Roddy
is a close-up magician with big fans among magic's big names. For many
years, Roddy operated 'under the radar' applying his talents to creating
effects for his own close-up performances and creating unique, original
effects for a number of TV productions. Over the past 10 years Roddy has
released many of his effects through Full52 and Penguin Magic to great
critical acclaim, and now he is bringing them to The Order of The Magi in
Manchester.
In this lecture Roddy will share the secrets behind many of these
effects and the creative process behind them, as well as sharing his top
tips for creating your own unique effects. Visiting Magicians are
