Wessex Magic Convention 2024 - Youth Initiative!
As part of our goal to introduce the next generation of magicians into our
captivating world of magic we are allowing free entry to juniors (16 and under)
to the daytime activities (this excludes the Gala show) if accompanied by a
full paying adult on Sunday 24th March in Bournemouth. Doors open at 8.30am, and
the day begins at 9am. As well as our Dealers' Hall, lecturers during the day
will include Luke Jermay, Craig Petty, Oliver Tabor and James Brown.
Refreshments will be available throughout, and from 5.30pm we will have a
licensed bar prior to our Gala show which starts at 6.30pm. The show will end at
around 9.30pm. Star names performing include: Ryland Petty, Katherine Rhodes,

Annual Dinner.

Preliminary details have now been released for the Ulster Society of Magicians
Chairman’s Dinner on 11th May 2024.
We will be returning to previous successful venue Rockmount Golf Club,
Carryduff, Belfast for the Ted Oldham Memorial Lecture at 2.30 pm with a break
before gathering at 7.30 pm for a 7.45pm start to the evening activities.
Special guests performing at the dinner will be Vice President of The Ulster
Society of Magicians, Magical Legend Fay Presto and President of the British
Ring of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Comedy Conjuror Philip
Partridge.

Magical
Memories in aid of Trinity Hospice. Jonathan Royle reports: Just over £1,500
was raised on Sunday 18th February towards buying a new piece of equipment for
Trinity Hospice who helped the late magician, singer and entertainer Carl DeRome
to live out his final days peacefully at home, before he died the day after
Blackpool Magic Convention 2023. Acts including Comedy Magician Jonathan Royle,
Comedy Legend Ricky Lane, Singers Tony Just, Ant Oliver, Johnny Rox and John
Kelly all performed during the event, as did Vocalist and Event Organiser Peter
Young in what was also a Tribute to Carl's memory, attended by family, friends
and fellow showbiz performers at Blackpool Royal British Legion. The
