John
Fealey. So sad to write that a great friend from my Covent Garden days in
the 1980s has died. It's hard to describe John for anyone that didn't know him.
I loved his fun and silliness, mixed in with real thought-provoking analytical
thinking; a heady combination making him a true one-off. He had a lifelong passion
for both comedy and magic, and performed all over the world. Here's a photo I snapped
of John, all suited and booted, at a Ron's Day (the International Magic
Convention) in 2002, where he was co-hosting the Close-up competition and
Lectures alongside Richard McDougall. Another Covent Garden friend, Dave
Southern, wrote on his Facebook page that John had been battling a condition
called Adrenomyeloneuropathy for the past 15 years, and had spent the last years
of his life building and enjoying an extensive library of magic and comedy
books. We loved you John. DT.

Ultimate
Triangle Mystery by Retro Rocketeers. Merlins of Wakefield write: We are
taking pre-orders for the latest release from Retro Rocketeers. We are the UK
Agents so this is available only from us, see:
Ultimate Triangle Mystery by Retro Rocketeers.
Designed in an ancient Viking theme this ornate and stunning table top
appearance feels like an illusion you'd see enlarged and on stage. The performer
introduces a wooden stand along with 3 decorated wooden panels. The stand is set
up and the 3 panels placed onto it. A triangular base is then introduced and one
by one the plates are taken and slotted into the stand slowly constructing a
prism shaped container. Once all the plates are in place the base is spun around
so the spectator can see the container entirely. But then the performer reaches
into the container and a large solid ornately designed monolith is pulled out
from within the container. The container is then also opened up to reveal
nothing hidden inside and the monolith can then be handed out to show it is
indeed a solid mass.
This piece has roots spanning back to the early 1900s and the mystical Okito
himself. Now reimaged the Ultimate Triangle Mystery add new features bringing
new and improved subtleties to this piece making the effect more deceptive than
ever. Material: Australian Jarrah Eucalyptus and Eco Friendly Bio-Plastic.
Made from luxurious Australian Jarrah Eucalyptus hardwood. Stand measures 14cm x
18.5cm. Monolith measures 4.5cm x 11.5cm.

Jamie Allan's Amaze at Marylebone Theatre, London
-
now on!
Magician Jamie Allan triumphantly returns to London after a sold-out
residency in Chicago,
bringing his critically-acclaimed show Amaze to Marylebone
Theatre from Thursday 25th July to Saturday 24th August, marking his
first UK performances in over seven years. Combining state-of-the-art
technology with timeless conjuring techniques, Amaze is a
story-driven magic show that puts the wonder directly into the hands of
the audience and makes them feel part of the magic.
Known the world over as an innovative and groundbreaking high-tech
magician, Jamie Allan has sold millions of dollars in tickets worldwide
and smashed box office records. He premiered his groundbreaking iMagic
creation on ITV's This Morning in 1995 as a teenager, captivating
audiences with his innovative approach. Since then, Jamie has continued
to push the boundaries of modern illusions, incorporating holograms,
laser beams, 3D video mapping, and interactive social media to engage
and amaze spectators.
Jamie starred in the West End show Impossible and toured the UK for
three consecutive years with his award-winning production iMagician,
which opened at the Garrick Theatre in London’s West End in 2015.
iMagician made its US debut in 2018, becoming the highest-selling
magic show ever in Chicago during his residency at the 1,525-seat Harris
Theatre. In 2021, Jamie co-created Illusionarium and Magic
Immersive to critical acclaim. His book
Everything, published in
2023, received widespread acclaim within the magic industry.
Jamie Allan said: "London boasts a rich tradition of magic, and I am
beyond excited to bring Amaze back to my home city after so many
years in the USA. My life's mission has always been to create wonder and
escapism, but this show is special; it also deeply touches the emotions.
Unusually for a magic show, so much of Amaze is rooted in truth.
This is the show and the story I have always dreamed of sharing, and now
I am thrilled to finally present it here in London."
Amaze is co-created by Jamie Allan and Tommy Bond. It is directed by
Jonathan Goodwin and produced by Corey Ross with executive producer
Steve Sterling. The show’s creative consultant is Harry De Cruz. Clare
Nordbruch is senior creative designer, Natalia Love is company stage
manager, and Joe Wenborne is The Believer.
"A masterclass in magic performance as
