Luke
Jermay Lecture "From The Shadows" - Cambridge Pentacle Club, 17th
September. Luke says of this Lecture: "Playing cards that appear,
vanish and travel as gracefully as the birds flying south for the
winter. Solid silver coins that impossibly penetrate solid table tops
under the strictest of conditions. Random actions inexplicably creating
spooky action at a distance, reminding us that with the right magic no
matter how impossible the circumstances seem, it is never too late to
transform. Beautiful, impossible, mysterious magic. I invite you
to join me in a celebration of pure conjuring. Not a single mind will be
read. Instead together we will explore some of my favourite original
conjuring creations. Each effect is designed to be performed in real
world close-up settings and no detail will be left out. Alongside the
methods, techniques and secrets, I will also share some tips and ideas
to help you." Cambridge Pentacle Club, St Andrews Church Centre, Cherry
Hinton, Cambridge CB1 3JS. Doors Open 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Lecture
finishes at 10.15pm. Admission charge for non-members (welcome) £10,

Magic
in The Repair Shop. Ron Martin from Dorset brings in a box of tricks
for woodwork wizard Will Kirk. Ron's magic box is in fact the classic
'Sliding Die Box'. It was made by his dad, Edward, 'Teddy', in the early
1960s when Ron began to show interest in magic as a young boy. The trick
box ignited a passion for magic in Ron, who went on to become a redcoat
at Butlin's and enjoyed a successful career in the entertainment
industry. Now scratched and broken, Ron's been unable to use it for
years. Will sets to work to make all as good as new again, becoming a
fitting tribute to Ron's father, who kick-started Ron's love for magic,
all those years ago.
