Ghost
Stories, Peacock Theatre, London's West End 30th September - 8th November.
A truly terrifying theatrical experience created by The League of Gentlemen's
Jeremy Dyson, and Andy Nyman, co-creator of Derren Brown's television and stage
shows. Ghost Stories mixes the very best of theatre with the buzz of a
thrill-ride, delivering something truly unique.
When Professor Goodman, arch-sceptic out to debunk the paranormal, embarks on an
investigation of three apparent hauntings – as recounted by a night-watchman, a
teenage boy, and a businessman awaiting his first child – Goodman finds himself
at the outer limits of rationality, and fast running out of explanations. After
exhilarating audiences for two years in the West End and across the world with
record breaking, sell-out productions and a smash hit film, Ghost Stories is
"Genuine scary fun" (Sunday Times), a worldwide phenomenon more
spine-tingling and fantastically terrifying than ever. Book here:

New
Release from MLM. Mark Leveridge is pleased to announce the publication of
the fourth volume in the Four-midable Magic Series of e-books. Entitled the
Four-midable Close Up Collection, the theme for the contents this time is
magic suitable for performing on a close up mat. Many hobbyist magicians do not
require tricks that fit the conditions experienced by commercial close up
workers, as they have the luxury of performing perhaps at home or in situations
where they can set down a close up pad and perform a one-off show. This
collection of close up routines provides tricks which are ideal for these
conditions and which are designed for a single performance. The magic provided
is varied, interesting, fun to perform and will delight your audiences! Here are
the details of the tricks included. Star is a lightweight mental effect with a
great surprise finish in which the ESP cards are displayed spread all over the
close up pad. Battery Pack is a uniquely unusual sequence using different
sized batteries in a pleasing visual routine that culminates in an unexpected
production. Touchy enables you to apparently ‘read' a spectator's
fingerprints on a card selected from a number randomly chosen and spread out on
the close up mat. Straight Through provides a clean penetration effect in
which a signed coin melts through a purse and into a glass on which it is
balanced. This e-book runs to 25 pages of clear explanations, supplemented by 32
colour photo illustrations. To watch dems of all four routines included below
and to order go to

Michael Ammar Lecture - Sheffield Circle of Magicians, 13th May.
The Sheffield Circle of Magicians are proud to present The Michael Ammar
Lecture in Sheffield: "The lecture features a mix of my signature effects,
time-tested classics from over 40 years of performing, and a few surprises
you've probably never seen before. Every routine I share comes straight from my
working repertoire—these are solid, real-world pieces of magic. But more than
just tricks, I've selected material that highlights the way I think about magic:
the theory, structure, and subtleties that elevate performance. Many magicians
have told me that it's these deeper insights—the thinking behind the magic—that
they enjoy most and take the most from." - Michael Ammar.
Tuesday 13th May at 7.30pm at Sheffield Circle of Magicians, The Steel
Cauldron, 3 Spooner Street, Sheffield S10 5BL. Visiting Magicians £10 (plus
booking fee). Tickets for non-members of the SCM can be booked here:
