European
Magic History Conference 2025 and 2027. Some 50 to 60 magic
aficionados assembled in the beautiful city of Riga, Latvia recently for
the 10th European Magic History Conference last month. The event was
hosted by local illusionists and magic theatre owners Enrico and Dace
Pezzoli, a lovely Italian-Latvian couple bubbling with joy and energy.
With financial or logistical support of many local authorities, venues,
clubs and companies, they had put together a most diverse program
brimming with lectures, shows, exhibitions and surprises in no less than
six different venues. Guests and speakers from the UK included Anne
Goulden (on the Davenport Brothers' first UK tour) and Fergus Roy (on
the life of 'Gilly' Davenport). Jan Isenbart has written a full report
on the conference in English with many pictures on his
Zzzauber blog. The next EMHC, in two years, will be hosted by Fergus
and friends in London at The Magic Circle on September 9th-12th, 2027,
see www.emhc2027.com.

Penn & Teller
at The London
Palladium, 13th-24th September. From the promoter: Penn & Teller, the
undisputed masters of modern magic, announce a very special run of UK
shows in 2025 to celebrate their incredible 50th Anniversary.
Renowned for their jaw-dropping performances, a joyous exploration of
magic and comedy, Penn & Teller first performed together on 19 August
1975 and are now arguably the world's most famous magicians. Celebrating
this incredible milestone, these 50th Anniversary UK dates will be Penn
& Teller's first ever shows at a West End theatre.

magic and mayhem, the anniversary tour will showcase incredible new
tricks, and offer UK audiences a rare opportunity to see the duo perform
live.
Consummate performers, Penn & Teller have continually defied
expectations - and sometimes physics - over the years with their
skewering of traditional magic tricks, crafting clever illusions that
capture audiences' minds and imaginations. With the longest running
headline act in Las Vegas, alongside hit TV series such as Penn &
Teller: Fool Us, Emmy-winning TV specials and hundreds of television
appearances. Saturday 13th September to Wednesday 24th September 2025 at

It
was good to see magician, actor, comedian and (as it turns out)
violinist, Nick Mohammed presenting The National Youth Orchestra of
Great Britain, brilliantly conducted by Dalia Stasevska, at the Proms
last week featuring Holst's The Planets and John Williams's Star Wars.
It turns out Nick is an avid Star Wars fan (although you got your
Close Encounters and Star Wars release dates back to front Nick!). Catch
