Young Magicians Club Junior Day Convention. The Magic Circle reports: The
Young Magicians Club celebrated their annual Junior Day Convention at The Magic
Circle HQ on Sunday, 26th October. Members enjoyed amazing lectures from Lloyd
Barnes & Jeki Yoo, an interview with Radio & TV presenter Matt Edmondson, a gala
show starring Jack Gleadow, Taylor Morgan, Mat Ricardo, Ava Beaux and Jeki Yoo
and the close-up and stage competitions, the standard of which was incredibly
high. Awards went to:

From MLM Select. Just released into the Mark Leveridge Magic Select range is
an interesting card routine called Predictive Switch. The performer
offers to demonstrate an effect that is part mentalism and part magic. For the
mentalism part he slides a blue backed prediction card from a pay envelope,
displaying the envelope is otherwise empty before returning the card and leaving
the envelope in view. A red backed deck is shown to be well mixed and a
spectator genuinely freely (no force) touches the back of any face down card.
This selection is left reversed in the centre of the deck. The blue backed
prediction card is now removed from the envelope and its face displayed - let's
say it is the QC. When the red deck is ribbon spread, the chosen card reversed
in the centre is also the QC! A successful prediction! Now for the magic. The
selected card is returned face up to the deck which is squared. The blue backed
prediction card is slipped back into the envelope. Touching the envelope against
the deck causes a magical switch to take place, the red backed chosen QC now
being found inside the envelope, and the blue backed prediction is reversed in
the red deck's centre. Predictive Switch costs just £7.00 and you can
