It’s
not often you see a magic double act where both performers are magicians in
their own right, making 'The Show' all the more engaging. With Belinda Jayne in
the driving seat as a confident, theatrical, and highly entertaining lead, and
Chris North bringing sharp wit, mental mysteries, and playful mischief, the pair
deliver an evening of magic that’s both polished and refreshingly different.
From the moment they walked on stage, the audience were made to feel welcome and
part of the fun. This wasn’t just a series of tricks, it was a warm,
family-friendly night packed with visual, colourful magic, audience interaction,
and moments that drew audible gasps. One moment might see Belinda gracefully
producing silks, snow, or even floating a table, while the next had Chris
reading minds, beating the odds, or attempting (with comic disaster!) to throw a
spanner in Belinda’s magical works, only for her to stay three steps ahead. This
was all in good-natured fun.
There was variety and pace throughout, from clever predictions and impossible
escapes to bold stage illusions and theatrical set-pieces like a Broadway
inspired umbrella routine. Both magicians had their own style, yet blended
seamlessly to create a show that felt rich, playful, and full of surprises.
By the time the cheeky, comical finale rolled around, the audience were
laughing, applauding, and clearly impressed by the skill, charm, and showmanship
on display. 'The Show' is an absolute treat for anyone who enjoys magic done
with personality, elegance, and plenty of heart.
