Dawes Magic Auction, Thursday 15th June, in Hull. Jon Marshall writes:
Renowned magic historian Eddie Dawes amassed a vast collection of important
magical ephemera and apparatus which will appear in a future Potter and Potter
sale. He also had, like many of us magicians, cupboards full of decks of cards -
Jumbo Packs, Devano, packet tricks, silks, Golden Fun Scissors, fakes including
cigarette droppers, Finger Chopper, Rice Bowls, tricks by Davenports, Vampire,
Louis Histed, Hades and many more. There are 100s of items. These have been
donated to Hull Magicians Circle and will be auctioned on Thursday 15th June. In
addition there are many props from Middlesbrough magician Tony Wormald including
children’s effects, magic tables and a huge collection of magic effects from
Michael and Sylvia Harrop. It’s going to be a massive sale. Viewing from 6.30pm
and sale starts at 7pm. It’s cash only. The venue is Men in Sheds Community
Centre, First Lane, Anlaby HU10 6UE. There is no list available but photographs
of some of the items are available by request from

Society of Magicians AGM. At the AGM on Monday 5th June John Donnelly
(pictured left) took over the position of Chairman from David Lillie (right). He
is joined on Committee by Vice Chairman Colin Irvine, Secretary James Hobart,
Treasurer Paula McIntyre, Membership Secretary Paul Gomac, Lucie Wilson Leanne
McCaffery and Darren Close. Rodd Hogg and James Hobart were awarded Honorary
Membership.
We are looking forward to another successful year of lectures and club nights
with continued emphasis on teaching and learning. Lecturers interested in
