Dynamic FX have been acquired by Magic Management Marketing & Training. The Dynamic FX brand name will remain unchanged and the company will continue to trade as a wholly owned subsidiary of Magic Management (photo). John Woolvett, director of Magic Management said, "Dynamic FX is the UK's leading company for the creation and performance of magic for events and television whilst Magic Management operates predominantly in the specialised areas of marketing and training. Far from being competitive brands, there is a natural synergy between both companies. The Dynamic FX team boasts a wealth of experience and I am very much looking forward to working with them." As part of the restructure, Woolvett and fellow Magic Management director James Freedman have been appointed to the board of Dynamic FX. Founder directors Paul Andrews, Anthony Owen, Marc Paul and Nick Reade have all resigned from the board and have sold their holdings for undisclosed figures. Andrews and Reade will continue as performers represented by the company. Owen will continue in a consultancy role and Paul will move to Magic Management where he will be personally managed and represented by that company (see below). 5.5.01

I am a great admirer of Marc's adaptability and professionalism and am very pleased that he has asked Magic Management to represent him." Marc Paul's television credits include his own show, Mind Games, Paul Daniels' Secrets and The World Magic Awards as well as numerous other appearances and consultancy projects. A lavish BBC adaptation of Anthony Trollope's The Way We Live Now is currently in production in London. Considered by contemporary critics to be Trollope's greatest novel, The Way We Live Now is a satire of the literary world of London in the 1870's and an indictment of the new power of speculative finance in English life. In the play a number of card cheating poker playing sequences take place that will be of interest to magicians. Duncan Trillo is the consultant and has been coaching the actors so that they themselves will be able to perform a few 'moves' and 'flourishes' for authenticity. The cards that they are using are replicas of a deck first manufactured in 1864. Despite giving the impression of clever card cheating no actual exposure will take place. The four 75 minute episodes will be broadcast next year. 5.5.01

David Copperfield mid-eighties... err no actually it's a screen shot from the current Tetley's Smoothly Does It television campaign. In the advertisement things go a little wrong for the magician, but all is well in the end when the 'vanished' spectator makes a return - complete with two pints of Tetley's. Smoothly does it! 5.5.01
