Arsenal striker and
World Cup competitor Thierry Henry is the new face of Renault Clio in an
advertising campaign launched on Friday evening during the first episode of the
new series of 'Big Brother.' The campaign was created by French advertising
agency Publicis, and features Henry searching for the meaning of "Va Va
Voom," the catchphrase used in recent Clio ad campaigns. Duncan Trillo's card
manipulations are seen at the start of the commercial, passing the "Va Va Voom"
test... The campaign is designed to make the car, traditionally aimed at women
(remember Nicole?), more appealing to men. "The new campaign is primarily aimed
at a younger, male audience and reflects the popularity of the sporty versions
of Clio." said Jonathan Wignall, Renault UK's national advertising manager. 25.5.02 |

On Tuesday 21st May
history was made when the Manchester Circle of Magicians achieved a membership
total of 200 magicians. It is believed that this is a world record for a 'local'
magic club. The Manchester Circle has only been in existence for 5 months but
has regular attendances of over 100 at each meeting. Last Tuesday a team from
Blackpool Magicians Club provided a terrific night of magic with 6 spots of
Close-up and four spots of Stage magic to a very appreciative audience. For
