"No Smoke without Firman" Pete Firman is gearing up for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he'll be debuting his one man show Hokum. Star of Channel 4's critically acclaimed late-night magic show, Dirty Tricks, and described by Derren Brown as "delightful and very, very funny", Pete is 50% magician, and 60% comedian (see what I did). He will be performing at White Belly in The Smirnoff Underbelly nightly at 7pm from 2nd to 26th August. Pete was profiled by Malcolm Hay in Time Out this week Click Here and also appears on the front cover of the current edition of The Stage in a piece entitled "No Smoke without Firman" discussing how the smoking ban is affecting the performance of one of his signature routines, the swallowing of a whole packet of lit cigarettes (See YouTube). Snow Leopard Vest - British illusionist Lee Alex (co-author and translator of the book "Quick Change" and creator of the best-selling "Colour Change Waistcoat") has just released his latest effect the "Snow Leopard Vest". The magician is wearing a solid black waistcoat throughout his performance (with or without a jacket) and, under minimum cover, at any time during the act, the waistcoat instantly becomes covered in large white polka dots. The "Snow Leopard Vest" works brilliantly when used in conjunction with any "Snowstorm in China" type effect as a final topper, or with the classic Leopard Silk. Those of you familiar with the Colour Change Waistcoat by Lee Alex will delight in the fresh thinking that has been applied to the Snow Leopard Vest. Produced to Lee's usual high standards, the Snow Leopard Vest is ideal for stand-up, cabaret and stage work. Available for pre-order with an introductory 10% off - for a limited time only. Watch the video clip and find out more at www.magicwaistcoat.com. 7.7.07
