Now
that's what I call "a Corporate!" British Illusionist Russ Stevens is
seen here pointing out across the heads of an audience of over 4,000
delegates at last week's TIGI World Release 2007 event at the
Mandalay Bay Hotel &
Casino in Las Vegas. Russ's full illusion show was flown out ten days
ahead of the presentation, with Russ and illusion team in hot pursuit.
Over 40 models took part in the live show that required 4 full days of
rehearsal to stage. The evening climaxed with Anthony Mascolo,
International Creative Director of TIGI, vanishing from an overflowing
tank of water, having been shackled and forced into it seconds earlier -
reappearing in the audience moments later! To watch a short clip

Juan
Ordeix (Argentina), top prize winner in the Mentalism category at FISM
last year, will be performing and lecturing at The International Magic
Convention in November. At the recent SAM Convention in Dallas he had many
knowledgeable magicians completely baffled with a routine that didn't even
form part of his FISM act! He will be presenting both pieces in the Gala
Show at the Shaw Theatre. His lecture contains many practical, baffling
effects that are easy to produce, and contains invaluable information on
the presentation of mental effects to the public. If mentalism is your
thing then this Convention will be unmissable, as Anthony Owen will also be
presenting his lecture, that was one of the highlights of the Magic Live!
Convention in Las Vegas earlier this year. Based on his articles in Magic,
all the effects are direct, baffling and entertaining with simple elegant
methods. Joining Juan from Argentina will be Mr Daba who, as well as being
a successful performer and inventor, is also a mentor for many of the
exciting new magicians emerging from South America. Juan and Mr Daba lead
a number of performers who will be making their debut in the UK. This
convention enjoys a very healthy reputation for introducing new talent to
the UK for the first time, including many now well know names, such as
David Williamson, Gary Kurtz, Lennart Green, and Raymond Crowe.
