Drummond
Money-Coutts launches his latest short film this week, "Thai-Boo,
Cardsharks of Sin City". Filmed in Thailand's capital city of
Bangkok, the film looks into the artistry of cards and card cheating in
one of Asia's most notorious cities. Despite (or perhaps because of) the
ban on gambling in Thailand - the percentage of hustlers and swindlers
is startlingly high in Bangkok, as are their levels of mastery.

The
Pageboy Speaks.. Again! by Patrick Page. The Pageboy Speaks..
Again! is now available as a book from
Patrick
Page Magic, the company set up by Patrick Page’s family to celebrate
his life and to promote and distribute authorised versions of his work.
"The Pageboy Speaks was a series of articles written by Patrick
Page, the legendary magician, between 1974 and the mid 1980’s.
Originally printed in the close-up magazine Pabular, The Pageboy
Speaks became a diary of his own thoughts, escapades and
experiences, written in his own unique style. Often controversial, he
told stories of the magicians he met, what they did and what he thought
of it all. It’s a complete who’s who of magic from a golden age. A time
of Flosso. Fogel, Goshman, Kaps, Marshall, Slydini, Vernon and all the
others. All his original articles are published in The Pageboy
Speaks.. Again! and you are in for a treat. Patrick Page at his
best, talking about his favourite subject – magic and magicians. Enjoy!"

card enthusiast looking to learn impromptu, workable, hard-hitting card
sleights and routines from one of the UK's most creative up and coming
talents, then Ollie Mealing's first ever lecture 'Handmade' is ideal for

highlights of these DVDs. Although none of the material requires insane

Janne
Raudaskoski/Magic Theatre presents Wally Watthead and His Lost
Glow. "Welcome to the bizarre, oversized world of Polly’s bedside
table: a truly unique Lilliput-sized world where Wally Watthead lives.
On it, we see a cell phone, a bedside lamp and a picture of Polly. All
is going well, until one day, the light bulb on Wally Watthead’s head
goes out – a cue for the magic to commence! This adventurous and
theatrical circus performance is for both, young and old alike and
breaks new ground with its unique use of technology. Wally Watthead is a
new kind of theatrical performance combining magic, clowning, mime,
black light theatre and video, with lashings of humour and plenty of
compassion. Janne Raudaskoski is a magician and performer. As a Finnish
and Nordic champion in magic, he has worked on several art projects
combining new circus, theatre and magic. In his first solo production,
Wally Watthead and his Lost Glow, Janne has researched and developed the
combination of magic, theatre, clownery, mime and video technology.
Janne aims to create a performance which is a powerful experience for
both children and adults, and that is easily translated into any
language. Expect magnificent special effects, sparkles, magic, bubbles
and levitation!" Venue: Jacksons Lane, 269a Archway Road, London N6 5AA

Kung
Fu Mind-Reading is the latest concept in mentalism from Paul
Voodini. He describes it as "a brave new approach to mind-reading and
the magic of the mind" and "perhaps the most radical new approach to the
art for many years". Kung Fu Mind-Reading is not a book, but is a
seminar where the principles are explained and demonstrated. Paul
assures all delegates that the "Kung Fu" element is purely to do with a
mind-set, and has nothing to do with keeping fit, exercise, or indeed
unarmed combat! The next seminar takes place on March 26th in Milton
Keynes. Details:
