Peter Eldin has been appointed Editor of the quarterly newsletter for Associate Members of Blackpool Magicians’ Club. The newsletter features all of the latest club and convention news. Peter is a successful freelance writer and the author of numerous books, some of which have been on magic. He was the founder editor of Watford Association of Magicians’ magazine, edited The Magic Circular for eight years, compiled the magic page for World’s Fair, and also acted as editor of Abracadabra when the editor was indisposed. The Northern Sessions - Part 2. Jack Stephens emails: "I kept the flag of magic flying when I recently met the renowned celebrity chef Marco Pierre White having a chat about magicians he knows through his catering business. Marco Pierre White - at the age of 33 - became the world's youngest chef to be awarded three Michelin stars. During our conversation I was amazed to learn that only two days earlier he had purchased a local pub. The Pear Tree in Whitley, in the heart of Wiltshire, is soon to become a Marco Pierre White restaurant and I look forward to meeting up with the great man again in the near future."  23.4.11

Internationally acclaimed mentalist teaches audiences to read minds. The internationally acclaimed mentalist, Doug Segal is touring his “I Know What You’re Thinking” on a 21 date UK Tour, his first since his sell out London run in 2006. The tour starts on May 7th at Bury St Edmunds Fringe Festival, moves to London, Ipswich, Brighton, Norwich, Derbyshire, Lancashire & Exeter before culminating with a series of dates from August 4th to 13th at the Edinburgh Fringe. Adam works his magic for sick kids charity. 16 year old heart patient Adam Longley is fanatical about magic and jumped at the chance of appearing at The Playhouse, London in a charity variety show on the 8th May to help raise money for other seriously ill children. Adam was born with a hole in his heart and went on to be diagnosed with a condition called Sub-aortic Stenosis at 8 years old. His operation caused complications including cardiac arrest, lung collapse and kidney failure which resulted in hospitalization for four months. At 13 the condition returned, as a result Adam is unable to take part in sporting activities but Adam’s passion for magic fills the gap. Over The Wall children’s charity invited Adam to perform at their show alongside master magician Michael Vincent, one of Adam's heroes. They will work together on stage to stun the audience with their card tricks. Nikki Radcliffe from Over The Wall said “The variety show is all about some very talented young people being teamed up with celebrities and professionals in their field. Adam and Michael are equally excited about working together and I am sure it will be a fantastic performance, we can’t wait”. ...and now for something Fabulous! Abra-Kid-Abra: A Magic And Juggling Show That’s Fun For The Whole Family! Bournemouth Pier Theatre, Bournemouth. Starring Jamie Jigsaw a full time children’s entertainer based in Poole at 6pm Tuesday 31st May. 25% of all profits are going to Julia’s House, a children’s hospice in Dorset. With special guest magician, Michael Vincent, the evening showcased a unique combination of elegant sleight of hand magic and cutting-edge mentalism.
