Derren
Brown Svengali - back in the West End for a limited run this summer... Due
to phenomenal public demand, Derren Brown returns to the West End with Svengali
for 28 performances only. Be prepared for a theatrical roller-coaster ride as
the acknowledged master of psychological illusion gives audiences another
opportunity to see this Olivier-nominated sensation. Svengali will reside
at the Novello Theatre from 12th July - 11th August. Derren Brown said: "I enjoy
the stage shows more than anything else. This one is fun, dark, funny, freaky.
Live on stage is the best place for what I do: it's unpredictable, and the
audience knows there's no possibility of judicious editing. Plus we've put in
new material for this year and the show has grown and changed on the road more
than any other." This is the last chance to see the sell-out live show that has
mesmerised the nation! Age recommendation: 12+. Box Office:

Dani
DaOrtiz One Day Card Magic Workshop, London, Sunday 29th April. Steve
Truglia writes: "We are glad to announce that the incredibly talented card
magician who has astounded some of the most experienced magicians in the world,
will be hosting a one day workshop in London. After his unbelievable appearances
and lectures at The Session, Dani has been touring the world as one of
the most remarkable card men on the planet! When 120, mainly highly experienced
magicians give a huge standing ovation, you know you are in the presence of
someone very special. His relaxed style belies a formidable technique, coupled
with amazing psychological wizardry which leaves his audiences completely dumb
struck. You will start using this stuff right away, it's incredible. The
workshop will take place from 9am to 6pm. It will include performances,
lectures, hands-on practice sessions, sessioning with Dani in attendance to help
out, and a Q&A session where your technical questions will be answered by the
man himself. This is a truly unique opportunity to learn some of the very best
close-up card magic available anywhere. We would suggest that this workshop is
not really suitable for beginners in card magic. There will not be time to cater
for beginners who may not understand basic terminology or techniques. We are not
trying to be elitist, but equally we wouldn't want a beginner to waste their
money. A good basic knowledge of stock card sleights is all we ask. Places are
limited to keep this event personal and allow everyone to get the most out of
this fantastic day. Cost of the day is £80 per person and this includes tea and
coffee all day. The car park is around £18 for the day, but there is plenty of
free parking nearby as it's a Sunday. The hotel is a 1 min walk from Euston
Station. Venue: Hotel Ibis Euston St Pancras, 3 Cardington Street, London NW1
2LW (Map).

March 31st Trinity Theatre, Tunbridge Wells; June 21st Woodville Halls,
Gravesend and October 10th Oakengates Theatre, Telford. Mel is seen here with
Tim Raffles, who wrote: "Just a line to say how much we enjoyed your performance
as Jimmy Nervo in the Flanagan and Allen Story. It’s surprising how many of the
gags and routines are still used today by modern comedians, how they have stood
the test of time and are still funny if they are told correctly, as they were in
your show. Rather like the fact that magic tricks of yesteryear are still being
performed today in various different guises, if they are performed well, they
are as good as ever."
