Happy
New Year and Fáilte (Welcome), that’s the message from Michael Ford (right)
Chairman of the New Irish World Heritage Centre in Manchester as he greets Mike
Sharples, Secretary of The Order of The Magi. This brand new state of the art
building will now be the meeting place for the society and is sited only a few
hundred yards from the original centre. It is in an area where Irish settlers
made their home many years ago just off Queens Road and now officially named
“Irish Town Way”. Mike Sharples has more than a Magi interest in this project as
he is employed by GBM in Manchester, a firm who specialise in large format
printing and have been responsible for a considerable amount of signage used for
the new premises. His work on this subject is currently on going. Magi members
are currently being informed about their new home. The annual dinner will be the
Magi’s first major event there and details are on
