Number 659 - 9th February 2013
Ian
D Montfort Is: Unbelievable. Ian D Montfort is a celebrity spirit medium and
psychic, and star of a brand new series for Radio 2. A comedy character created
by Tom Binns (the man behind hapless hospital radio DJ Ivan Brackenbury) Ian D
Montfort has been a hit at the last three Edinburgh festivals with his
combination of magic and laughter. In each radio show Ian makes contact with the
celebrity 'spirit guides' secretly chosen by audience members and reveals
personal stories that make them laugh-out-loud one moment and gasp in surprise
the next. Each episode features a different celebrity guest who gets a 'private'
reading from Ian. The first episode stars former Corrie and Holby actress Angela
Griffin who reveals more than she bargained for as a traumatic day at P.E. is
revisited, and other guests across the series are Ruth Madoc, Hardeep Singh
Kohli and Joe Swash. Catch up with episode one

You lose the card in the deck. You ask the spectator to cut the cards
into 4 piles. You then ask the spectator to take the 'Digital' deck and
place it on the 1st pile explaining that it will help locate their card.
Nothing happens. You do this for the 2nd and 3rd piles. When the
'Digital' deck is placed on the 4th pile it activates. It starts reading

Tom Owen's magic will carry on...
"Mel's Magic Co are pleased
to announce that they will be displaying a full range of "Tom Owen
Magic" on their stand at the forthcoming Blackpool Magic Convention. It
was Tom's wish that Mel should take over from this year, whilst he just
attended the shows. Sadly the latter was not to be. Alan Bailey of
Preston, Tom's Blackpool assistant, has agreed to pop by Mel's stand
from time to time and assist with some of the demonstrations. Mel Harvey
is putting together a 'Tribute to Tom' as a lecture/dem for magic clubs
and is interested in hearing any anecdotes that other magicians may wish
to share. Mel is particularly interested to talk to anyone who remembers
Tom's stage act as parts of this will be re-created for the talk." You
can contact Mel by email
mel@melharvey.com, telephone 07860 485578, or on his stand at the
convention.
