Number 678 - 22nd June 2013
Derren
Brown returns to London's West End with a brand new live show this
Monday, June 24th.
The acknowledged master of psychological illusion will once again
mesmerise, shock and entertain the nation. Derren says: "I enjoy the
stage shows more than anything else. Live on stage is the best place for
what I do: it's unpredictable, and the audience knows there is no
possibility of judicious editing". On stage as well as on television
Derren is in a class of his own, exhilarating audiences with his unique
brand of entertainment. For the past twelve years he has created
television and stage performances that have stunned audiences, debunked
the paranormal, won copious awards and encouraged many to improve and
enhance their own mental abilities. His first show appeared in 2000,
Derren Brown: Mind Control, and was followed with Trick of the Mind,
Trick or Treat and a series of Specials including the controversial
Russian Roulette, the hugely popular Events, Hero at 30,000 Feet and the
more recent Derren Brown: The Experiments, which won the 2012 BAFTA
award for Best Entertainment Show. Please Note: The performance is not
suitable for under 12's. 24th June - 17th August. Book online:

Luke Jermay: Sixth Sense. This man that can read your mind!
At the Leicester Square Theatre, London
from 8th to 13th July. "Luke Jermay is the most incredible man you’ve
probably never heard of. He can read your mind. No, really; he can read
your mind. He doesn’t use mind games or psychological tricks, he is not
a magician; there are no smoke and mirrors. He can simply read your
mind. His awe inspiring intuitive abilities have gained him high profile
fans such as Derren Brown, Dynamo and Uri Geller who all agree Jermay’s
abilities are unequalled. Now English born intuition artist Luke Jermay
is bringing his Sixth Sense to the West End for the first time after
years headlining his own one-man show in Las Vegas. Now is the time for
Luke Jermay to bring his gifts to the spotlight; and they will leave you
astonished at the power of the mind." To book visit

Matthew
Wright UK lecture tour. Two-time FISM award winner and Magic Circle
Close-up Magician of the Year 2008 Matthew Wright is back in the UK next
February for a brand new lecture tour packed full of magic, philosophy
and humour. Anyone who has seen Matthew lecture knows that the passion
he has for performing and practising is transferred into his teaching
effortlessly. Your club members will not only leave with some new skills
and tricks, but also with the inspiration to go away and practise what
they already are working on. Matthew has been the Director of Magic at
The House of Illusion in Spain for five years and during that time he
has helped many magicians turn their potential into fully routined
professional performance pieces. He uses this experience to teach you
and your members how do develop and create your own original pieces with
simple formulas and lessons on character building, routining and
rehearsals. This is not a boring “theory only” lecture though. Everyone
from the “new to magic” to the “seasoned professional” will find
something to excite and inspire them, including brand new effects never
before seen. Matthew will only be in the UK during February. Email tour
organiser Steve Gore to book
magic@stevegore.co.uk. "Matthew presented one of the most
entertaining and enjoyable lectures we have seen. If you book Matthew’s
lecture it will be one of, if not the highlight of your year."
Mark Traversoni, Leamington & Warwick Magic Society. "The magicians here
in New Zealand rate your lecture as one of the best they have seen."
