Jonathan
Pendragon will present his one man show on the Friday night of the
International Magic Convention in London on November 14th. The
convention organisers write: Not only will Jonathan be performing, but
he will also be lecturing both at the main Convention and at the
Festival of Magic in the week leading up to the Convention, in a special
'Stage Magic and Illusion Day'.
With three Presidential Galas in Washington
D.C., performances for the Queen of England, the Prince of Wales and the
Royal Family of Monaco under his belt, it is no surprise that he is the
youngest performer to ever receive a Performing Fellowship from the
Academy of Magical Arts (the governing body of the Magic Castle).
Considered by many as the Master of Grand Illusion Jonathan redefined
the art of illusion with a dramatic new style, “Physical Grand
Illusion.” This style of Illusion put the emphasis on the physical
performance instead of the prop. At a time when magician after magician
presented larger and larger illusions on television, some of which were
elaborate camera tricks, Jonathan wowed international audiences with
illusions based on years of physical training, including dance,
gymnastics, and martial arts. He created The Pendragons, an
illusion team who were as spectacular in their appearance and movement
as anything they presented.
Metamorphosis, their most famous illusion, involved a split-second
transposition that would have fooled Houdini (the illusion’s inventor),
according to the 2005 50th Anniversary Edition of the Guinness Book of
World Records.
This is an unprecedented chance to see and
hear Jonathan talk about some of the groundbreaking illusions he has
created and what it takes to create performances that have been seen in
at least 14 prime time network television specials in the United States,
and on television in approximately 50 countries around the world. As
previously announced on MagicWeek, due to limited seating at The
Bridewell Theatre, tickets for the Friday night Convention events are
now only available as part of a full registration for the whole
Convention and registration prices are being kept the same as last year
for all events, if you book before March 2nd. This is a great
opportunity to enjoy performances and lectures by Tom Mullica, Jonathan
Pendragon and many more star names still to be released at a truly
affordable rate. To register visit
