Magic Night at Madame
JoJo's - London. Friday, May 2nd. "Young and Strange (both strange and young) show long-term relationships
can sometimes go awry and use magic to punish each other in the most
spectacular way. Meanwhile Dee Riley neatly
demonstrates Descartes' theory of' I think therefore I am' in a beautiful
piece of magic, then plays with bottles.
Have you ever known what someone was going to say before they said it?
Well meet Peter Antoniou, he knows what’s on your mind and what you’ll
say, he knows what’s in your pocket too.
It would be scary if he wasn’t quite so hilarious.
But no show is complete until a diva sings, especially when it’s about
tea and done by Tina Turner Tea Lady!
All expertly compered by Mighty Trickster Neil Henry." Magic Night at Madame JoJo's. Doors open 7.00pm.
Show starts at 7.45pm. Tickets £12 including entry to Good Foot. Show
ticket plus dinner: £25.

The April Mark Leveridge Magic podcast awaits you!
"In this month's 30
minute edition, Mark ruminates (it's a free country!) on whether as
performers we have 'comfort zones' and if so, where are they and are we
prepared to step out of them. He also invites you to consider the
dilemma that can sometimes face you when you are required to pass a
booking on to a colleague, and suggests ways that you can stop putting
off doing those things in magic which you want to do, but never seem to
get round to! All this plus details of Mark's new event, The Business
Magician Seminar, suggestions for how to keep your performing enthusiasm
up even under trying conditions and also reflections on which elements
of your magic skill set develop as you get older. It's a really
interesting listen and it's free to access online or to download to an
mp3 player from

original routines - and twists on the classics - set the stage for a
fun, unique and entertaining lecture which concentrates on adding an

releases. This lecture is great for magicians who want to put their own
originality into their magic and is aimed at the close-up working

The
Order of The Magi. Geoffrey Newton PRO writes: At the AGM of The
Order of The Magi (Manchester) held recently the membership attending
ratified the Council’s recommendation that Adrian Sullivan be promoted
to Life Membership. For this to be considered the rules of the society
state that: “Life Membership may be conferred on Full Members who have
at least twenty years of continuous membership in good standing and
have, in the opinion of the Council, rendered exceptional service to the
Society. Life Membership carries membership for life, without further
payment of subscriptions, and constitutes the highest honour which the
Society can bestow upon its members. Life Members are not subject to
annual re-election and the honour can only be withdrawn in exceptional
circumstances.” The society does not give these awards lightly, the last
one being presented 5 years ago. Adrian has been a member for 25 years
and served as President in 1994. He is a regular attender twice monthly
and makes a good contribution to meetings. He has also often lectured
for us. He has on more than one occasion come to our rescue when a
lecturer has at the last minute been unable to attend due to unforeseen
circumstances. The vote for this honour was unanimous. The new President
is Dave Magee and society information can be found on
www.orderofthemagi.org.uk.
