Eric Evans UK Lecture
Tour - starts June 30th. American
Street Magician and Card Expert, Eric Evans will be visiting the UK
for his first UK Lecture Tour in July. Eric is well known for The
Secret Art of Magic, the critically acclaimed bestseller he co-wrote
with Nowlin Craver. Awards include: Texas Association of Magicians Best
Stage Magician 2000 and the Society of American Magicians Mystic Craig
Award for Professional Promise 2001. Most of Eric’s professional career
has been spent working the streets of America and Europe in a career
spanning almost thirty years. During that time he learned many lessons
that not only apply to the street specifically, but also to the
performance of magic in general. In his lecture he will share many of
those lessons learnt. In addition he will cover much of his work with
cards, which is largely based upon the work of Eric’s first teacher,
Ernest Earick; a veritable legend among card men. All of the magic
performed and explained is most suitable for a parlour or stage, but can
be easily adapted for close-up if desired. See

New, informal, Liverpool 'Magic Meet'.
Neil Collett writes: "Most casual of casual magic meets:
1pm on Tuesday 8th July at The Crown Pub, 43 Lime Street, Liverpool, L1
1JQ (Map)
Telephone: 0151 707 6027. Food and drinks are served by the pub (at your
own expense of course) but there are no fees and no rules. If wished, I
will do a little tuition, for what it's worth. Anyone else who fancies
teaching an effect or an affiliated skill is welcome to do so, though
no-one is required to perform unless they wish to. If you have any items
to sell, I don't see a problem with that, though please be respectful of
the space in the pub. Nothing is specifically arranged with the pub,
although I have informed the management as a matter of courtesy. If a
few turn up and they enjoy themselves, perhaps it will occur frequently.
Please note it's not a magic club and it is intended merely as a mutual
meeting place for those with an interest in magic. Hope to see a few
people there. The venue was chosen because it is particularly easy to
get to by public transport and it's near to Aaron Haye's magic shop for
those wishing to have a little wander." Neil Collett
