Will the BGT wildcard swing it for magic? Mandy, Maddox and Marc were all just pipped at the post during the week of semi-finals, with all three doing exceptionally well coming in third place in their respective semi-final shows. BGT have announced that there will be a wildcard entry, so there is still a chance that a magic act will make it into the final on Sunday. Best of luck to them all. DT. 2.6.18

Magical Bones: Black Magic, 13th June & 2nd July, London. From the promoters: Star of the spectacular West End Magic Show Impossible and ground breaking 4K TV series Around the World in 80 Tricks (Sky, Insight), Magical Bones returns to the Southbank with his brand-new magic show, simply called Black Magic. This show goes far and beyond the normal expectations of a traditional magic show and culminates in a spectacular finale that truly questions the limits of what is humanly possible. Expect to be taken on an awe-inspiring journey that just so happens to include the coolest breakdance moves, back flipping card tricks and of course jaw dropping street magic! Following his recent TV performance at the 2018 BAFTAs TV awards (BBC1), where he closed the ceremony, this will be the first chance this year for the public to witness his new show Black Magic live at the Underbelly Festival.

The show has been written and produced by Magical Bones himself: "I’m really excited about debuting this new show. The term ‘Black Magic’ usually is associated with negative connotations, however, this show is about challenging those ideas and pays tribute to an incredible black magician from the 1800’s, Henry ‘box’ Brown - a 19th century Virginia slave who escaped to freedom at the age of 33 by arranging to have himself mailed in a wooden crate in 1849 to abolitionists in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!" From the organisers: Philip Northfield is proud to bring his one-man show Mind Reader to the Ludlow Fringe on 16th June, at The Sitting Room, Blue Boar. He puts his money where his mouth is in a battle of wits and attempts to redefine how predictable we all truly are in a finale that will leave you scratching your head for weeks. New from Mark Leveridge Magic. Mark Leveridge is pleased to announce the release of a strong strolling magic routine called Imagination. Originally only available to members of E-Club Pro, this effect has also proved to be a highlight in Mark's E-Club Pro Live lecture, and now for the first time it is being made generally available as a Premier E-Routine download. The trick is a version of the Invisible Deck, but without any physical deck ever being brought into play. A spectator is handed an invisible pack from which a card is eventually selected and dropped into a single pay envelope which is left in view. Moments later, a real version of the chosen card is genuinely slid from the same envelope! The card can even be removed from the envelope by the spectator. The method is extremely practical, has no re-set, can be worked surrounded and is used regularly by Mark in his own commercial close up work. Imagination is supplied as a set of downloadable written instructions which contain a link to a further online video performance and explanation. No gimmicks are required and there is very little to carry around when working. For more information and to watch an online dem, go to www.markleveridge.co.uk/imagination.php. 2.6.18
