Arturo Brachetti will be bringing his incredible one-man show "SOLO"
to Blackpool 2020. The Blackpool Magic Convention is very proud to announce
another massive headline show for February 2020. Arturo Brachetti will be
bringing his incredible one-man show SOLO to the convention on Saturday
night. This will be its UK premiere. It's the first time that we've ever had one
performer headline their own full show in The Opera House Theatre and Arturo
Brachetti more than justifies that honour. He is without doubt the finest
quick-change artist in the world today and has taken the art to levels that no
one else could ever imagine.
SOLO: Arturo Brachetti The Legend of Quick-Change is an eclectic 90
minute magical journey inside Arturo Brachetti's mind. In the show Arturo
presents over 50 character transformations in a variety of sketches; but also
includes Chinese hand shadows, laser battles and the art of sand painting in a
multifaceted, multimedia show that includes a live video feed that takes us on a
nostalgic journey back to the wonderment of childhood.
SOLO has sold more than 300,000 tickets in France, Italy, Belgium and
Switzerland, and now it's heading to Blackpool for the February 2020 Convention.
Already confirmed: Lance Burton, Mac King and Uri Geller... making this one of

New
Release from Mark Leveridge Magic. Mark Leveridge is pleased to announce the
release of a super easy version of the classic Cards Across. Called Pure Cards
Across, this handling creates a move-free presentation designed for a close up
show or parlour performance. Ten cards are counted onto a spectator's hand and
are then dropped upright into a glass. A second set of ten cards is then dealt
onto another spectator's hand and this pile is dropped into a second glass.
There are no false counts, no palming, and ten cards are genuinely placed into
each glass. Three cards are magically then transferred from one glass to the
other, resulting in just seven cards being counted back onto the spectator's
hand from the first glass, and of course thirteen from the other. Everything is
performed literally at fingertips and there is no sleight of hand and no extra
apparatus (envelopes etc.) to clutter the effect. This routine comes as a
Premier E-Routine which consists of a downloadable PDF file of printed
instructions, which also contains a link to an online video performance and
explanation. To watch a dem and to order go to
www.markleveridge.co.uk.

Variety
Live at the Empire Liverpool, this Tuesday, 5th November.
Starring singing sensation Ben
Stone, American Idol star Jasmine Trias, Las Vegas Headliner Wally Eastwood, Two
Voices in One Mark Merchant, and from 'Penn & Teller Fool Us' John Archer. Paul Stone writes: 'Variety Live at the Empire' is
a world class Variety Show at the Liverpool Empire Theatre on Tuesday November
5th starring several performers direct from the Las Vegas Strip. This show is a
tribute to a brave and inspirational young man from Liverpool, James Dunn, who
suffered from the horrendous skin condition EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa) and who
sadly died last year at the young age of just 24 years old, and to raise
awareness for this little known yet devastating condition. James was
posthumously awarded the ‘Liverpool Echo Personality of the Year’ in 2018 for
his fundraising efforts on behalf of DEBRA the EB Charity.
We are keen to fill as many of the Empire
Theatre’s 2300 seats as possible to make it a special and memorable night for
James’s family, so we are donating tickets ‘free of charge’ to charity
supporters, helpers, carers, nurses, ambulance paramedics and ex Servicemen's
clubs. To find out more details about the show and to watch a couple of short
video clips of James Dunn, which are both moving and inspirational, please check
out
www.gofundme.com/jamesdunnshow. Anyone interested in obtaining tickets for
the show should email me directly at
qualityevents@aol.com. There is no obligation to make a donation (although
of course it would be greatly appreciated).

Pat
Gresham. Jon Marshall writes: I’m very sorry to say that Pat Gresham the
widow of Magician, Fire-eater and Sideshow proprietor Jon Gresham sadly died in
Driffield after a short illness on Thursday evening 31st October. Pat was a
former Sideshow performer appearing many times in The Headless Lady and Cleo the
Girl in the Goldfish Bowl illusions amongst others at their chain of illusion
sideshows throughout the UK in the 1960s. She said that she always kept a bag
packed in case of staff problems and never knew if she “would be called on to be
legless in Margate or headless in Scarborough”. After Jon Gresham’s death Pat
took over the running of his Penny Arcadia Museum of coin operated amusement
devices and cinemas. Pat had many friends in the magic world and had lectured
for magic societies including at the British Ring IBM convention. Pat
contributed a chapter to the recently published Sideshow Showman - the biography
and memoirs of her husband, Jon Gresham. Those who would like to send
condolences to Pat’s family contact Jon Marshall
