The Order of The Magi Meetings: Update. Mike Sharples, Secretary, writes: The next meeting is on the 15th February and guess what, it is back in our regular meeting place, the Irish World Heritage Centre! I’m not sure if you realise but it’s almost 2 years since we were allowed into The Irish Centre, because of the pandemic restrictions, so please try and come along and have a chat with members of The Order Of The Magi. You may even want to bring along that latest effect that you have bought or learnt and try it out before you end up at The Ruskin. Please note this is not a lecture because I would have thought that there will be more than enough going on in the next few days after this meeting. Even if you are not going to the Blackpool Convention you are welcome to come and join us for the evening.

Now I know that this is the Tuesday immediately before the Blackpool convention and normally we wouldn’t hold a meeting then, but wouldn’t it be great if some of the people attending Blackpool came up a day early and joined us in Manchester. I have negotiated a discounted rate with the NIU hotel which is less than 50 yards away from The Irish Centre for anyone who coming to our meeting and travelling onto Blackpool in time for the convention.

So do you know any who are going to the convention either from the UK or from much further afield and would like to join us on the 15th February. Dealers, artists, performers or just plain ordinary magicians (if there is such a thing?). Invite them along to our meeting and give me a call on 0774 8833666 then get them to contact the NIU hotel on the following number 0161 518 0888 and use the reference MAGIC for a discounted rate.

Following on from February unless we are told otherwise, we will be back to 2 in person meetings per month at the IWHC and personally, I cannot wait to get back in the routine of having regular meetings. If you are interested in joining one of the oldest magic societies in the UK please email me at secretary@orderofthemagi.co.uk or take a look at our website www.orderofthemagi.co.uk. In the meantime stay safe and I look forward to seeing you again soon, best wishes Mike.
