United States. They were the winners of the heats and are all members of The
Magic Circle.
The final will be broadcast live on Sunday at 7pm on Zoom and tickets for

public.
Organiser Rodney James Piper said this week: "It’s going to be a wonderful
evening. The heats over the past month were fantastic but the final promises to
be even better and we really look forward to the public having their say. During
the last couple of years, a new medium of magical performance has been created
and The Magic Circle is proud to be celebrating and showcasing this exciting new
form of entertainment."

The
Wayne Dobson Show - Live on Stage, Friday 24th June, Haslemere Hall, Surrey.
From successes in Las Vegas, the Royal Variety Show and his own TV series,
magician Wayne Dobson returns to the stage with a magic show unlike any you’ve
seen before. Combining eye-boggling tricks and Wayne’s special brand of comedy,
The Wayne Dobson Show is not to be missed. At the height of his stardom which
included three hit TV series of ‘Wayne Dobson: A Kind of Magic’, attracting
audiences of 11 million, Wayne was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. As the
condition worsened and consigned Wayne to a wheelchair, he retired from public
performance believing audiences wouldn’t accept a disabled magician, paralysed
and with impaired speech.
Since then, Wayne has created hundreds of original magical effects for the
world’s leading magicians. The Magic Circle presented him with the Maskelyne
Award and The American Academy of Magical Arts their Award of Merit; the two
highest awards in magic. Feeling the urge to perform again, Wayne tried out a
couple of private shows and was overwhelmed with his audiences’ response. So
much so he has decided to do some more! 7.30pm on Friday 24th June at Haslemere
Hall, Bridge Road, Haslemere, Surrey GU27 2AS. See

'Best
Magic' Adelaide Fringe Winner. Kevin Quantum writes:
Delighted to announce that my show Dark Matter has just won the weekly award for
Best Magic at the Adelaide Fringe. These awards are handed out to the 'best'
shows (as
judged by a panel of independent, expert art judges) in each genre: comedy, circus, cabaret, dance etc.
It's a real honour to receive this award for magic, I'm over the moon to be
honest. It's been a difficult two years in the Arts Industry and this is kinda
my comeback show. So to come to one of my favourite Arts Festival in the world,
here in Adelaide and receive this award really is just wonderful. The show is on
this weekend and closes on holiday Monday 14th March.
To my friends in the UK, this show will absolutely be on at the Edinburgh
Fringe Festival this August. Tickets will go on sale soon. Watch this space.

MagiCon
2022 - updates. James Hobart writes: Two acts which stormed Blackpool 2022
have been added to the lineup for MagiCon 2022 - the Irish Magic Convention.
Following his lecture debut at Blackpool, George Firehorse will be rambling on
for an hour about whatever comes into his head at the time. It’s bound to be
unpredictable and hilarious. Another young Magician has also been added to the
lineup for the Saturday night show. Cillian O’Connor will join his friends Aidan
and Jasper following his appearance on the Blackpool Sunday night Gala Show.
The Balmoral Hotel Belfast is now sold out of rooms for the Saturday night of
the convention. Don’t worry however there is plenty of alternative accommodation
at prices to suit all budgets nearby. The city centre is only ten minutes away
by car and if you are worried about parking we would suggest leaving your car at
the Balmoral and getting a taxi in and out. You may also wish to consider the
Premier Inn in Lisburn which is 15 minutes drive away. To find a hotel why not
use www.trivago.co.uk?
29th April - 1st May 2022, Belfast. Registration open online now:

Son
of Shadow by John Lenahan. From the author of the Shadowmagic trilogy. A
world of faeries, leprechauns and dragons – and magic fuelled by the blood of
trees. A mystery portal to the Real World. And a pair of curious young
adventurers who know they shouldn’t step through it… Meet Fergal the Second,
nicknamed ‘two’. Or ‘Doe’, in his own language. He can do magic. But, for the
moment, he’s forgotten where he’s from. Or what’s happened to his blind friend
Ruby. He’s actually from Tir na Nog, the enchanted world of Shadowmagic, where a
new generation of the royal House of Duir are cheeking their parents, preparing
for adulthood and itching to see the Real World for themselves – whatever the
peril.
John Lenahan, whose Shadowmagic trilogy sold more
than 100,000 copies, takes us back to his enchanted parallel world where Irish
folk myth combines with lively 21st-century banter. Lightning Books, 320 pages,
